Well that's how I see it. If he had been carrying and used it on the two attackers who were chasing him.. .his situation legally would have been identical to the Rittenhouse case.
I guess he didn't think he would need a gun while out jogging. He wasn't bothering anyone, hadn't done anything wrong. But, if that idea catches on, the gun industry is going to become even richer.
Ddyad, I just had a thought. If young Black men suddenly start carrying long guns around in public (for protection of course), do you think the gun laws would change? Would it become illegal to carry a long gun in public?
No not bothering anyone at all. Just trespassing multiple times. That’s always innocent behavior https://www.google.com/amp/s/nypost...giving-ahmaud-arbery-trespassing-warning/amp/
The very first gun control laws in America were aimed at blacks. But if you haven’t noticed blacks already carry guns in the street. Haven’t you seen the murder stats?
Moriah knows what is most detrimental to African-Americans. It is the system of White Supremacy that African-Americans have lived under since they were first bought here as slaves. As long as the White society refuses to acknowledge this, not much is going to change. Pointing fingers at African-Americans and telling them what they are doing wrong is not working. Instead you should speak to your fellow White citizens and see what you can do to CHANGE your attitudes/beliefs/prejudices. A perfect example of White Supremacist thought pattern was when the defense lawyer in the Ahmaud Arbery case asked that "all Black pastors leave the courtroom". Can you imagine an African-American lawyer saying anything like this? Of course not.
If trespassing was looking around inside that house, then many people had trespassed. But, sadly Ahmaud was the only one lynched for it. Of course, Ahmaud was African-American. It's different for African-Americans isn't it?
Important message: Whenever you resort to name calling, insults or profanity that means you have LOST the debate. Remember that.
Can you prove that there was multiple trespassers or are you going off of assumption. You don’t even know what a lynching is. You’re obviously using a word that’s to big for you to understand. He was not lynched.
So let’s recap here Kyle Rittenhouse was chased down in the streets, threatened to be killed, attacked with a skate board, attempted head stomping, had a gun pointed at him, then killed his attackers that he was trying to flee from. but that’s detrimental to blacks for him to be found guilty. Lmao second case of Ahmaud Arbery guy was trespassing multiple times. If not for that he would have never been confronted. Then after he is confronted for illegally trespassing he moronically tries to grab the other morons gun in a clear show of anger in the video. This will pass as self defense in some eyes. Not in mine given they outnumbered the man anyway so why was the gun even needed. But some can argue that this is self defense. this has nothing to do with race. He was trespassing. He wasn’t approached for being black, he was approached for committing a crime multiple times. Yet this is detrimental to blacks for why? Because they want to commit crimes with impunity?
No it doesn't and the man who was lawfully shot was armed and trying to flee the scene from police trying to arrest him with children in the car those protest should never have occurred in the first place the community should be thanking the police for stopping him.
White males are legally oppressed more so than blacks. That’s biggest line of bull I have ever heard. Affirmative Action makes white males have a harder time getting into college. Biden literally tried to give farmers COVID relief so long as they were not white men. So it sounds to me that white men are targeted for oppression. Not blacks. Maybe you can point to one law that is oppressive to blacks.
Anyone who does not want to enrich the gun industry should consider a preowned gun. In the world we live in most people should be armed. IMO, the law should encourage citizens to arm themselves. In places like Kenosha the police should arm local citizens who cannot afford to arm themselves.
Black men have historically been the focus of weapon bans. When the Black Panthers started carrying long guns in public there was push to ban carrying them. I believe there will be another push to ban carrying rifles. "Very generally Negroes were prohibited or limited in their ownership of firearms. In Florida, for instance, it was "unlawful for any Negro, mulatto, or person of color to own, use, or keep in possession or under control any bowie knife, dirk, sword, firearms, or ammunition of any kind, unless by license of the county judge of probate, under a penalty of forfeiting them to the informer, and of standing in the pillory one hour, or be whipped not exceeding thirty nine stripes, or both, at the discretion of the jury." Law abiding citizens are prohibited by law from carrying firearms in most of our urban killing zones. That is what makes those areas so dangerous.
The black American community, culture and family have been targeted for destruction since the Civil War. Suppose the British had paid the Pilgrims to reject marriage, made sure their schools encouraged ignorance, and incentivized rampant crime in their community, while the Pilgrims to avoid work. IMO, you would have seen similar results after a generation or so that you see now in the black community. The problem is not race. The main problem is the systematic, persistent entrenched systemic racism that has always infected a significant part of the leadership of the progressive movement and much of the leadership of the DP. That and RP indifference are responsible for what has happened in our urban hell holes. Free black Americans faced fewer barriers to advancement in some parts of the antebellum South than in 21st century cities like Detroit and Baltimore. "Alexandre Pickhil was a painter, who died between 1840 and 1850. Joseph Abeillard was an architect and planned many New Orleans buildings before the war. Norbert Rillieux invented the vacuum-pan used in producing sugar; as an engineer and contractor Rillieux had no rivals in Louisiana. The general periodicals in New Orleans praised him but seldom alluded to his Negro descent. In 1843-1845, New Orleans colored folk issued a magazine and seventeen of the young mulatto poets collected an anthology called Les Cenelles, which they published as a small volume. They were all men educated either in France, or in private schools in Louisiana, and were in contact with some of the best writers and literature of the day. It is doubtful if anywhere else in the United States a literary group of equal culture could have been found at the time. In 1850, four-fifths of the free Negroes living in New Orleans could read and write, and they had over a thousand children in school. Among them were carpenters, tailors, shoemakers and printers, besides teachers, planters and professional men." BLACK RECONSTRUCTION IN AMERICA 1860- 1880, W.E.B. Dubois, introduction by David Levering Lewis, the Free Press new York 1998. pp. 153,154.
Given all the circumstances, why wouldn't Abery have believed that he was about to be lynched? Imagine yourself in his situation. And given the testimony and established facts is it surprising that so many people believe Abery was lynched? “lynch verb (used with object) 1. to put to death, especially by hanging, by mob action and without legal authority: In the 19th and 20th centuries, thousands of southern African Americans were lynched by white mobs. https://www.dictionary.com/browse/lynching
Are you arguing he was lynched? Can you read your own post? He was not lynched. It doesn’t say “sometimes by hanging” it says “especially by hanging”. as far as the murder he tried to grab the mans firearm before being shot and that was most definitely in the video. Prior to this confrontation he was illegally trespassing. Those are the facts. How a jury interprets that is yet to be seen. I believe it was murder. I don’t believe it was racially motivated and I definitely don’t believe he was lynched. I believe the murder was criminally motivated meaning it never would have happened if he didn’t illegally trespass. But you can’t sell me on self defense because they were the aggressors
Thank you, Ddyad. Lynching doesn't necessarily mean hanging. Emmitt Till wasn't hung, but his death was still referred to as a lynching.
I just saw a YouTube video that revealed there were lots of militia type White men among the protesters in Kenosha that night. They said they were there "to protect the community". They were all carrying big guns just like Kyle was carrying. It's a miracle many more people weren't killed that night. I wonder why this fact wasn't mentioned in the trial?
The white men who attacked KR were "militia type White men". IMO, a significant presence of armed local black Americans would have precluded any violence.
