    All rights are man made.
If a right is not man made, then every creature on earth has the same right.
I can't think of anything that all creatures, or even just humans have, that applies to all near 8B people.

A right to life could be a very strong one.

Where does the 2A say, Shall Not Be Infringed, except what refers to the 10A?

HINT: Nowhere. That's just your personal made up excuse why you agree with infringements.

The men who wrote the 2A would strongly disagree, I think. I can recognize your rights, and I can then write law to protect them, and I can then deploy armies and police to defend them by force if necessary, but that doesn't mean your rights came from me. Just because the government is charged with defending your rights, does not mean those rights came from the government. In fact, no rights come from the Constitution, it contains only frame work and limitations on the government.

since nothing will stop murders, banning things doesn’t work does it? It just punishes those who get caught doing it.

No rights come from anywhere. Except what is granted and enforced by some mechanism.

If a law is needed to protect a right, it's man made. Both the right and the law to keep them.

    Never pretended any such thing.
I've said to you several times that all we have is a line in the sand.

You don't seem to ever pay attention to what you respond to.

drunk driving is malum per se. You want to stop malum per se violations by passing lots of malum prohibitum offenses

    You assume that.
But as usual, your assumptions are wrong.
But see if you can find any post of mine anywhere wanting to ban guns.

In fact you asked me why I want to ban semi auto rifles and I answered, why would I want to ban them. I own one and use if for hunting.

So what you said all along is something you completely made up. Now, try to be honest for a change

How are they "worthless" though? That's pretty strong language. Is there no risk whatsoever that a criminal could get a gun through private sale?

Yes, so do I. But if someone is shot with a pistol from a meter away, do you actually think that they are more likely to survive than if they were shot with an assault rifle from a meter away?

And how it that applicable to what you admitted, that bullets fired at a higher rate and greater velocity are more destructive in the damage they inflict on human beings than are ordinary handguns?

I never disputed that. Now answer the question, if you able to: if someone is shot with a pistol from a meter away, do you actually think that they are more likely to survive than if they were shot with an assault rifle from a meter away?

    Is this an imaginary scenario?

How does it relate to assault weapons being employed by so many mass murderers in the U.S.?

Why wouldn't they all prefer more portable, easily-concealable pistols if they were as efficient in killing their victims?
