Maybe Trump shouldn't have pulled the US out of that treaty then?

Remember when he attempted to hold military aid to Ukraine and the man he constantly complements invaded shortly after his landslide loss? Not to mention wanting to defund NATO.

Putin probably thought he had more time.

There is nothing Trump nor Biden nor anyone else could have done to prevent this. Putin always declared Ukraine to be an illigetimate state and was going to take it. Nominating Biden likely gave Putin his window of opportunity to strike again on Ukraine because he has 50 years of political history on Biden to predict what he was going to do and how he was going to react. On the flip side, he had only 4 years of history on Trump and everything Trump did showed that he was brash, quick to react and rogue. Unpredictable.

    So thanks for that...

If anything, NATO and Europe should have listened to Trump by not getting energy dependant on an insane despot.

    Remember this?

He got laughed at ffs. LAUGHED at? "Oh Trump is just being Trump!"

But progressives love living in the land of make believe and gum drop rainbows and lollipops where we can all sing kumbaya and live happily ever after and no authoritarian regimes would ever dare weaponize another countries energy dependance.

    Yet here we are.

Hope lessons are learned here back home about energy indendance, how important it is. And how you can't just go full retard green energy if the tech isn't there yet to replace oil and gas. (which it's not) If anything the only good thing out of all of this is that Putin is teaching dipshit progressives all over the world the reality as to how things really are versus how they wished they were.

Kim just fired a missile over Japan, with him and Putin we may not have to wait for Iran. Actually, I think Iran already has one but they get more concessions threatening to get it.

He cancelled the Iran nuclear deal and placed nuclear sanctions on the country.

He's ending the gum drops and lollipops bullshit and calling a spade a spade here. They were using the Iran nuclear deal to clearly stock pile Uranium. So he ended the stupid deal and placed sanctions on them. This is what happens when you put dipshit progressives in charge. They see the world not as how it is, but how they wish it was.

    This was the correct move.

Your selective revision of Trump's collusion with Russia is par for the course. Trump was and remains a dupe of the very Russian oligarchy whose oil and gas s its sole source of wealth.

Trump was never about US energy independence-he was a dupe for pushing European dependence on Russia.

Of course he made some useless meaningless remarks on OPEC. At the time it was the alternative energy source for Europe to turn to meaning prices for the US would have gone up competing with Europe for the same supply.

Trump was and remains a Russian compromised stooge. You want to pretend otherwise? At this point its a bit absurd to lecture "progressives" about Putin and Trump and the collusioon.

As for your comment on "retard green energy" and trying to label non Trumpet cultists as progressives and lecturing them on authoritarian regimes is a friggin joke when you defend a man who hero worships authoritarian dictators. Go read Donny's love letters from Fat Boy Kim. What world do you live in anyways?

Here the one most of us live in know Trump for what he is, a pathetic sock puppet of Putin compromised decades ago when he went running to them for finances after he had no credit rating.

You want to lecture on authoritarian regimes and nukes? For phack's sakes man get real. Go see where Trump's mouth and nose have been wedged. Stop pretending.

We should be aware / cognizant of the very real danger here. That doesn't mean we just submit to every demand a bully makes, but it also means we look for ways to be smart and avoid antagonizing him unnecessarily.

I'm not suggesting we give him "anything he wants", I'm suggesting we stop hinting at / advocating openly for Russian regime change because that's one of the triggers that could potentially let the nuclear genie out of the bottle.

As much as I f*cking hate New Yorkers with a burning passion, getting rid of Putin or even saving Ukraine is not worth getting NYC nuked over.

our resolve to do what? There are a lot of possible answers to that question. Not all of them end in fiery death for millions, but some do. We should choose carefully.

General Petraeus gave a pretty clear answer: Any Russian use of tactical nuclear weapons in Ukraine would bring on a crushing NATO response that would effectively eliminate all Russian forces in Ukraine and the Black Sea.

I dont think before 2014 anyone was saying anything of any consequence regarding Putin. Were they? It was only when Putin started agressing onto Crimea that he started to become a Piriah.

But the reality right now because of the corner this dipshit painted himself in is going to either require a nuclear war to resolve itself or Putin to be removed from power and a much more moderate leader in his place.

This is all a dead end for Russia. All that is in question is how many countries get dragged into this physical contest.

What do you think Putin's response to that would be? NATO killing Russians all over western Europe. How's he going to react to that?

Ukraine and the Black Sea are not in western Europe.
Putin would have to make his own choice. We would be prepared for whatever he would decide.

Update from Ukraine | Ruzzia Runs from the South | Kherson will be liberated

Lots of movement in the south now. I expect the Ukrainians will have Kherson mopped up by Halloween.

Well, you and I don't command a nuclear arsenal. Putin does. That's why our respective responses might differ.

Yes, of course you're right. I meant eastern Europe.

"Prepared" how? To stand idly by and watch a few million New Yorkers vanish in a flash of light? How does one "be prepared" for a nuclear exchange?

They may be foolish threats, but there's at least an outside chance they're not entirely idle threats.
