It makes no difference whether he stole them or not. They were not provided adequate protection as required by law. And this went on for more than six years. There is no way to know who had access to them. This is the worse kind of security breach. If you know who might have had access, then you have a chance of mitigating the impact. Without that knowledge, you cannot mitigate the impact.

I think Democrats should disown Biden regardless of whatever we find out about these documents. He hasn't done a bad job, but we have better candidates.

 

Sure. And Hillary "could be" behind JFK's assassination. In the end, in the case of Biden, all you have is "could be". In the case of Trump there is no need for conspiracy theories because we have FACTS.

 

Does that mean that Biden can just take any classified document and store it or just let it lay around for as long as he wants without consequences?

 

If you prove a crime in court, he needs to go to prison. The difference is that Trump publicly ADMITTED to committing a crime already, by claiming the documents are his when he refused to return them after a legal subpoena

 

I don't know. Whatever the law says.... I only know that intent did not appear to exist. And I think that's important to a judge. But I'm not sure. The only thing I'm sure about is the intent in Trump's case. Because he has expressed it publicly.

When handling classified documents, you do not have to intentionally mishandle them to break the law. If you handle classified documents, you are required to handle them properly.

Explain how you can leave classified documents in at least six locations (and the number keeps climbing) without intending to leave them there.

 

If he broke the law, lock him up! I don't care who he is. What I'm saying is that Trump's and Biden's cases are completely different.

First you explain how you are "intending to leave them there" by returning them. And doing this even before anybody asks for them... or when nobody was even aware they were missing.

And where was Biden’s permission slip? He stole them as well. He literally had them in a private residence that he himself described as private. He was not in legal possession of those documents. He stole them

 

No amount of fact, reason, logic, or common sense will dissuade members of The Following from maintaining the set of false beliefs spewed and reinforced by the numerous right wing media outlets they consume on this matter. That's just the way it is.

If a removed president doesn’t have to prove anything he he has them why would he have to prove anything if he had them and then gave them to someone else?
