I'm sorta surprised that Cincinnati won.....I was expecting Cinci to make a game of it but Buffalo to come out on top. Dunno....maybe Cinci is the real deal this year. Depends on the game with KC?
It's down to the final four in the NFL. Kansas City Chiefs, Cincinnati Bengals, Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers. Which would be the match up for the Super Bowl?
Me too. They will provide the best match-up. Purdy is not ready for big-time, and I think Burrow has a bright future, but he it not there yet.
Philly is starting off strong. I had not watched much football, this year, but I was impressed with the Eagle receivers, making some nice catches. There seems something amusing to me, about the two who made such standout plays, Brown & Smith, having such commonplace surnames. Since S.F. defense is #20 against the pass, but #2 against the run, Philly's strategy is clear, early on, to be going frequently to the pass. Typically, though, it is difficult to rely on this for an entire game, without getting a running game going. Two bad breaks, already, against the 'Niners. It turned out that Smith's excellent catch, had it been challenged, would've been ruled incomplete. Then, Philly did challenge, what initially looked like an incomplete S.F. pass, that turned out being a 49ers fumble. Now, there's concern over Brock Purdy's wrist-- the last thing, the 'Niners need.
The Eagles are clearly the most complete team in the NFL, and I think they should be favored by more than 2 points. If I were betting on this game I'd be all over the Eagles covering that spread (and then some). Unless Mahomes and his gimpy ankle have the greatest Super Bowl performance at QB ever and Jalen Hurts winds up wearing Chris Jones like a cheap suit all day long (like Cam Newton wore Von Miller in SB50) the Eagles should take home the Lombardi Trophy. The only other way the Chiefs win is if the Eagles beat themselves (turnovers, bad special teams, penalties, etc.). Crazy how the NFC East went from Least to Beast this season. Three of the last 4 teams standing in the NFC were from the East, and one of them should win the Super Bowl...
The Eagles will win, but I'm rooting for the Chiefs. It would also be great to see Andy Reid beat the team that kicked him (and Doug Pederson) to the curb. The only sports team in Philly I like are the Phillies. F the Eagles and the Flyers.
It's unusual to be completely 'neutral' about a superbowl, but here's a lukewarm NFL fan in Denver ( ) who just really doesn't 'have a dog in this fight'. It's hard to get too worked up about it when your resident-team, the Denver Broncos, can't even find anybody who wants to be its head coach! It may be a pretty good superbowl, though, and not just another marathon of us eating guacamole, drinking beer, and watching multi-million-dollar commercials that somebody (?) thinks are 'cool'.... At halftime, maybe I'll just watch a re-run of the best damned halftime show there EVER was -- Lady Gaga, at Superbowl Fifty-One, in 2017:
Yeah....I'm a Packers fan....but no dice for them this year....hard to say if Rodgers will be around next season. Lol....no Flyers fan here....Blackhawks here ....baseball would be Brewers(born I'm Milwaukee), second would be Cardinals.
Yes, he is most welcome here with the Folphins. We really needed an upgrade in Defensive Coordinator position.
Yeah, the Broncos lost him and everybody else, competent or incompetent, good or bad, who's been anywhere within ten miles of Denver since Peyton Manning retired in 2016.
