A New Sheriff In Town Who Has Nothing Against Guns

Three teen-aged punks are charged with murdering three other teen-agers. Two are now in custody and a hunt is on for the other suspect. Florida’s Marion County Sheriff Billy Woods noted during a Friday morning press conference that there is already a plethora of gun laws but none of them keep criminals from getting guns.
While the media honed in on guns, Woods keep shifting the focus back to the individuals.
Breitbart News reported Sheriff Woods saying, “Some of you media want to blame the one thing that has no ability or the capacity to commit the crime itself, and that’s the gun. These individuals committed the crime.”
During the press interview, one member of the media asked how the suspects acquired a gun. The sheriff responded, “Car burglaries.”
He added, “All the gun laws we’ve got in place didn’t prevent it, did it? Neither will any new ones. Here’s the fact: the bad guy’s gonna get a gun no matter what law you have in place.”
Toward the end of the press conference, Sheriff Woods stressed again the need for holding teenagers accountable.
He said, “Our school districts, not just here…school districts across this state and across this nation need to quit minimizing the actions of their students. Hold them accountable. That’s where the failure is.”

I saw this guy’s press conference and all I can say is we need more sheriffs like him.

A 12 year old murdered someone. What kind of upbringing did that kid have?

It’s always interesting when they say something cannot be done when there are real world examples of it happening.

What they cannot answer is how many guns do we need before their utopia becomes reality? How many gun until the third world levels of gun violence decreases?

Guns are not the problem, the Marion county law enforcement is not the problem the real problem is schools!!!! This did not happen in a school.

I grew up as a kid in Ocala with access to guns all the time like the rest of my friends and these sort of things didn't happen back when I was a kid.

So he's right it's not the guns. We always had guns and we didn't go around shooting each other

And now we do, something changed and guns don't get an automatic exclusion.

 

The local liberal rag of a newspaper carried the article but stated their policy was not to name individuals who were charged with a crime if the suspects were minors -- what a crock, that is part of the problem and the sheriff correctly pointed out that teens need to be held accountable. And the sheriff showed photos of the three suspects and named their names. Good for him. What about the three teen victims that were murdered? I say 'an eye for an eye' and 'a life for a life'.

 

Are their murder rate at 0%? If not, then Canada and Australia need to ****.

 

Mexico's murder rate is 3x higher than ours and they have 5x fewer guns per capita. Gun control obviously doesn't work.

The trouble with radical liberals is if they don't want to own a gun they don't want you to own one. If they don't eat meat they don't want you to eat meat. If they want to go electric vehicle they don't want you to have a gasoline vehicle. If they want to kill babies in the womb then they want you to do the same. If they have radical opinions they want to shut you up if you disagree with them.

So you tell me why in that exact same area back in the 80s an early mid-90s we didn't feel the need to go run around and shoot each other? Things like that were unheard of then.

Canada had more murders in 2021 than they did in 1980. Why hasn't their total murders gone down significantly over the past 40 years?
