Let not the wise man boast in his wisdom, let not the mighty man boast in his might, let not the rich man boast in his riches, but let him who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord who practices steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth. For in these things I delight, declares the Lord
Again, apparently God and Jesus, the most proud characters in all of fiction do not apply this to themselves.
Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: -jesus own words.
Not really. Egypt was conquered, colonized and islamized by force and cut off of their history by Arabs. Just like American Natives have been by the US. If you cut it that way you can say also America has thousands of years ignoring the fact that the native culture mostly ended in the 19th century. The same with the old Egyptians.
I think white racism against blacks is on the rise I think black racism against whites is on the rise not sure how to address these issues though
By noting race is a stupid thing to divide ourselves on, by placing no importance on it in policy, by encouraging everyone to oppose racism itself (rather than just against any particular race), and by waiting for the racists to die out. We were headed that way before the new illiberal left pushed race importance and discrimination again, causing a new generation of racists we now have to either change (unlikely) or also wait to die out.
agree, what our leaders say does have an effect, MAGA has not helped and some on the left are not helping either and like you, I sadly think we just have to wait for this to pass, but I think people need to speak out against it, regardless of party
The key I think is recognizing racism as racism rather than as just anti-[insert-group-here] and then fighting for that group's rights, often leading to racism against other groups. Fighting racism against a person's group too often breeds racism against another group.
give an example, may agree with you, but need examples for example, I am against the "white privilege" attacks on white people I see the racism regardless the race it effects
That's a good example. A concern about racism against black folks leading to people spreading "white fragility" nonsense goes along with that. If a person is hypersensitive against criticism against racism, then maybe they are a bigot, but them being white isn't why and not all white people are bigots. Another good example is the fighting over the progressive stack, for example black racism against jews or asians, lashing out at them and calling them "white adjacent", etc. If the focus isn't on "fighting for black rights" and is instead on "fighting against racism" (all racism) you can maybe avoid that sort of thing. Everyone, even white people, should be able to relate to being judged or discriminated against based on something they have no control over, even if that's not race.
since obamas presidency the republican party has let their latent racism out of the bag, we have two quasi ideaologies in the USA, the "big stick" philosophy of the business clas, and the "enlighnment" philosophy of the DEMs bot have had errors in judgement
I think Trump brought out a bunch of hidden racists, but I don't think there are nearly as many of them on the right as there were a few decades ago. Real progress has happened there. I think the more alarming thing now is the rise of race pushing on the purported (but I would say not actual) left. Calls for constant focus on race, racial discrimination and segregation, etc. I think it more than anything else has driven many people of all races to become more and more racist, going directly against their purported goal.
the white priviledg refers not to just white people, but in my opinion the "established order" lately ive been looking into the link between wallstreet and our banking community/upper class, its all over the place since before the panama canal the label white privilege is very misleading as many liberal composed slogans are
That's pretty funny because I asked the op what the Democrat plan is and he never got back with me Perhaps you would care to swing the stick at the old pinata?
That's because you see everything through the lens of government. Once the government has made the laws apply equally, then it is up to individuals...and people were doing pretty darn good job of it until the left started-up with their identity politics [again]. Hate [for political gain] is a big-time industry in this country.
actually the right started this nonsense, some on the right were very upset about having a black President, then came Trump and threw gas on the fire
Actually, it's been going on forever, but look at the division Obama sowed. Very few people cared whether he was black. He campaigned on uniting the country and did the opposite. He started much of this mess.
