I do not accept you exclusion of "law abiding", because those who are "law abiding" perpetrate large numbers of gun deaths, including mass killings. This is an issue where people who seriously want to reduce gun deaths need to come together to work out ways to accomplish that. I believe it IS going to require those on both sides to give some way. I created a thread on gun deaths in America wherein people who love their guns were willing to propose some ideas as well as others doing so. Plus, a general discussion. I'm not going to restart there here purely for your benefit. Sorry you missed it.
he cannot. the vast majority of murders by gunshot are perpetrated by felons-upwards of 80% and if you count juveniles engaged in felonious conduct but who have yet to earn an adult felony record, it is even higher
the sad thing is that you, and other gun banners, claim its about crime control, yet nothing you propose has even a remote chance of reducing violent crime, What your proposals do do, is to harass private gun ownership
Thank you for the demonstration that you are only interested in "solutions" and "progress" that involve unnecessary, ineffective and unconstitutional restrictions on the exercise of the right to keep and bear arms by the law abiding, and that you - and virtually everyone like you - are not just disinterested, but unwilling, to be part of the discussion about how to reduce giun-related violence. Dismissed.
I think the most important question was not asked: How many people were killed/wounded by LEGALLY purchased AR15 comparing to other LEGALLY purchased firearms. Looking on the numbers we will see if it make sense to ban sell of AR15.
that's really stupid because all rifles are used in less murders than beatings. = nothing ever makes sense concerning banning firearms that are mainly used for lawful purposes
his point had zero merit. Given how many AR 15 style rifles are sold and owned (well over 30 million now) and how few are used in violent crimes, his argument completely fails
Yep, and if fishes were wishes…. Let us know when you get your magic wand perfected… then do something about auto deaths as well as disappearing guns.
the sad thing is this-we both know that public safety has almost nothing to do with the motivation behind the gun banning movement
I knew you'd show up sooner or later, boyo. You just don't "get it" and you've quoted my post (that states the obvious) but you cannot bear to admit it. Instead, you conjure up an absurd red herring and divert attention away from the possibilities of reducing shootings and how that can be achieved. Every solution begins with a common denominator. You must learn how to walk before you can run.
Mesabi range Irony here if you all wanted to reduce shootings-rather than lawful gun ownership, you would end the moronic jihad against semi auto rifles
you all want to ban guns that are almost never used for murder and essentially never used for robbery or forcible rape. Thus, crime control is clearly not the goal of those who want to ban AR 15s
Who are these "you all" that you have decided I am a member of? So, according to you, gun control has nothing to do with crime control? What an illogical thing to say.
leftwing gun control schemes ONLY real relation with crime control is serving as a facade. Liberals use gun control so they don't have to do anything that harms criminals
