If you are talking about the "neo-pronouns" like "xie," then I can see the issue. But ESL students should be able to understand the basic pronouns like he, she, and they.

 

While we normies don't take it as a slur, the word can be intended to be used as a slur. Here's an example of an every day word being turned into a slur:

Gay people go to gay bars because they like being around gay people. Nothing wrong with the use of gay, right?

Someone does something stupid and you say that's so gay. Slur, right?

Seeing it used as a slur is not the same thing as it being as slur. I can use "white" as a slur. Does that mean no one should ever be called white and that white is always a slur?

 

Are you kidding? I can openly now debate the entire concept of trans or gender vs sex.

Since its being applied where it was never necessary before and isn't necessary now?
Since its being applied by the very people I hear using it as a slur?
Try using the term "Negro" or "Negress" and see where it gets you. Same general concept.
It would be as if the klan demanded we call black people "negros" again. Not necessarily a slur, but kinda weird given the populace its being applied to doesn't want it and the people demanding its application are those who use it as a slur.

 

Neither of the terms referenced in the opening post is 'cissy'. Never ran into this particular word. Gotta admit I can see where 'cissy' is an insult though, as it is a homophone for 'sissy'.

Twitter is his platform. He could say 'banana' is now a hate term and all those using it would be banned. He could probably enforce it too. Free speech means you can say what you want; it does not mean anyone else has to give you a place to say it.

That is because we are ignoring the context of the tweet Elon was responding to.

Once i got the proper context, my opinion on this changed a great deal.

I told you I googled it so I figured that would be sufficient. Yes I googled it therefore I took the screenshot as well.

You can find images when you Google something. I've provided images before that I got on Google. I thought you knew that. That's why I asked if you took the image or if you got it from someone else. "I Googled it" doesn't answer the question. Thank you for finally answering the question. I'm not sure why it was so difficult.

Let’s face facts; the left uses every possible word to either insult someone or put them on defense. Don’t like Obama? You’re a racist. Don’t like Harris? You’re a sexist. The list is nearly endless, people on this board have even tried to shame or shut down people for being white.

What the left needs to learn is we conservatives don’t base our lives on feelings and emotions like the left does. Just because left wing snowflakes melt over mere words they think conservatives will also melt. We don’t.
