So Trudeau doesn't know a basic history of Ukraine? What happened to Jews (and others, not to diminish) there in WW2? What happened to Jews there during the Russian revolution? Don't the pogroms against Jews go back to the 1800's, and maybe even earlier? So when he heard "fighting against Russia" he didn't immediately know who was doing the fighting? And how much "fighting" against the Russians did these Ukranian Nazi units do during the war? How much of their time was spent unengaged, doing other things...?

As to be expected the Russian "sources" on this forum have exploited this mistake to try deflect from what Russia has done in Ukraine. The fact that the Prime Minister of my country and the Speaker of the Parliament are idiots and the members of Parliament are ignorant of the Galicia Division does not mean what Russia continues to do in Ukraine is acceptable.

It does however provide an excellent opportunity for pro Ukrainian Canada to be embarassed by Russian trolls who push the false propaganda that Russia is fighting Nazi Ukrainians and that's why it invaded Ukraine.

For many of us Canadians the fact that Trudeau is a prize jack ass is no surprise. The fact that "Russian" sources on this forum try fart about with it is also no surprise.

The fact that Trudeau is a bafoon does not justify what Russia has done.

He was being brought before Parliament *because* of his WW2 service. It defies logic that the unit he served with wasn't known. That unit was an SS unit, which the Nuremberg Commission had deemed a criminal organization with all its members, by virtue of their membership, guilty of war crimes and crimes against humanity.

It's an inescapable conclusion that a choice was made to honor Hunka, even while knowing his background. The responsibility goes further than just with Anthony Rota. Canada got caught honoring a Nazi.

Not trying to "discredit" you (?) but I simply don't accept anyone as American if they have dual citizenship. If you have Canadian and American citizenship, then as far as I'm concerned, you're Canadian, larping at being an American.
