    No, he was mistakenly praised.

You must be a Putin supporter.

Maybe you'll stop supporting Putin's little pal?

Do you have fun smearing the United States every time you say something negative about our government? :puke: :puke:

Does this sound like a silly thing to say? That's because it is. Pointing out one negative thing isn't "smearing" an entire country. I'll remember this response the next time you have something negative to say. It's only positivity from you from here on out to keep the hypocrisy in your past and not in your future. Good luck!

Is there a reason you're ignoring the fact that he was introduced as a "hero" who fought against the Allied forces in WWII and then he got two standing ovations from virtually everyone in the room? I'm trying to figure out if it's because you still haven't learned this fact or if it's intentional ignorance.

The correct response to, "check out this hero of a Nazi who fought against us in WWII," is "booo!" It is not, "yaaaay!" Make sense yet? Let us know if we need to explain it even more simpler terms.

You also didn't answer my question (or perhaps I didn't see it). Do you knee-jerk defend the praising of all Nazis in Canada or just this one? And if this is only a one-off, what is so special about this Nazi that warrants such ardent defenses? Most people would simply agree that it was a stupid thing for them to do and move on with their day. Why was this not your reaction?

He was introduced that way before they realized his full history. The issue is that someone did not do a proper / exhaustive back ground check

That person has now resigned. Apologies have been made to all relevant people. Trudeau took responsibility too

This is quite different from what happens in this country. Aplogies are looked down on or stubbornly not done for fear of looking weak .
That just shows a lack of maturity and lots of arrogance.

Every leader has mishaps, but it seems that in the current atmosphere , these mishaps are dramatized and even savagely exploited.

So Zelenskyy didn't know who was fighting in Ukraine during WW2? The Nazi was introduced as a World War 2 hero who fought against the Soviet Union during WW2.

The Nazi was introduced as a World War 2 hero who fought against the Soviet Union in Ukraine. Does Selenskyy need a refresher course on his country's history during WW2? You can make it excuses for Canada's parliament but not the President of Ukraine.

Your article doesn't support those applauding knew Hunka was a Nazi. You made it up or you're repeating someone else's propaganda. Quite simply, you're smearing Canadians.

The applause was based on the departed Speaker inviting him and those present thinking Hunka fought the Germans. The Speaker resigned in disgrace when it was revealed Hunka was a Nazi. Canada fought the Nazis with 42,042 dying out of 11,506,655 citizens in 1941. Canadians don't like fascists and that's why they don't like your pal Putin.
Stop smearing Canadians with lies you heard--or made up.
Absurd when we've been discussing Hunka's Nazi past and the Speaker's resignation in disgrace.

BTW, I was born and raised in California and added Canadian citizenship in 1974, live part of the year in the U.S. and part in Canada, and have been in Canada for months.

You either don't know what happened in Canada or you're deliberately misrepresenting the situation.
You repeat lies about Canada and now you're misrepresenting my views.

So, how come I don't see you condemning Russian aggression in Ukraine? Are you promoting Putin's lie that Ukrainian's fighting for their country are fascists? Are you a Putin supporter?

Don't make up or repeat lies on a public forum and you won't be called out by me.
I bet you would, but then you'd be inviting me to focus on your MAGA trash talk.

As ignorant as our Congress is, even they aren't so ignorant for every last one of them to clap like seals for a nazi war criminal. The majority does however continue to support sending billions to Neo-nazi war criminals in ukraine, so it's not much different. This is what happens when your representatives are bought and paid for.
The Canadian parliament doesn't represent conservative Canada. And it's obvious you're from California....a place turned into a shithole by liberal policies....with all your petulant remarks about President Trump. If Canadians don't like Trump, they can go **** themselves. They ought to focus their efforts on removing their representatives who praise nazi war criminals.

Being called out by you? What a joke. As I said earlier, pointing out that you don't know what you're talking about wouldn't stop you, and sure enough .... LOL

The Nuremburg Commission deemed the SS to be a criminal organization guilty of war crimes and crimes against humanity and that any member would be likewise guilty. So there you go. Hunka was a member of the SS. As per the Nuremburg Commission, he is guilty of war crimes and crimes against humanity.

    Regarding the SS:

The Tribunal finds that knowledge of these criminal activities was sufficiently general to justify declaring that the SS was a criminal organisation to the extent hereinafter described. It does appear that an attempt was made to keep secret some phases of its activities, but its criminal programmes were so widespread, and involved slaughter on such a gigantic scale, that its criminal activities must have been widely known. It must be recognised, moreover, that the criminal activities of the SS followed quite logically from the principles on which it was organised. Every effort had been made to make the SS a highly disciplined organisation composed of the elite of National Socialism. Himmler had stated that there were people in Germany " who become sick when they see these black coats " and that he did not expect that " they should be loved by too many ". Himmler also indicated his view that the SS was concerned with perpetuating the elite racial stock with the object of making Europe a Germanic Continent and the SS was instructed that it was designed to assist the Nazi Government in the ultimate domination of Europe and the elimination of all inferior races. This mystic and fanatical belief in the superiority of the Nordic German developed into the studied contempt and even hatred of other races which led to criminal activities of the type outlined above being considered as a matter of course if not a matter of pride. The actions of a soldier in the Waffen SS who in September, 1939, acting entirely on his own initiative, killed fifty Jewish labourers whom he had been guarding, Were described by the statement that as an SS man, he was " particularly sensitive to the sight of Jews ", and had acted " quite thoughtlessly in a youthful spit of adventure " and a sentence of three years' imprisonment imposed on him was dropped under an amnesty. Hess wrote with truth that the Waffen SS were more suitable for the specific tasks to be solved in occupied territory owing to their extensive training in questions of race and nationality. Himmler, in a series of speeches made in 1943, indicated his pride in the ability of the SS to carry out these criminal acts. He encouraged his men to be "tough and ruthless" he spoke of shooting " thousands of leading Poles ", and thanked them for their cooperation and lack of squeamishness at the sight of hundreds and thousands of corpses of their victims. He extolled ruthlessness in exterminating the Jewish race and later described this process as " delousing". These speeches show the general attitude prevailing; the SS was consistent with these criminal acts

Conclusions: The SS was utilised for the purposes which were criminal under the Charter involving the persecution and extermination of the Jews, brutalities and killings in concentration camps, excesses in the administration of occupied territories, the administration of the slave labour programme and the mistreatment and murder of prisoners of war. The defendant Kaltenbrunner was a member of the SS implicated in these activities. In dealing with the SS the Tribunal includes all persons who had been officially accepted as members of the SS including the members of the Allgemeine SS, members of the Waffen SS, members of the SS Totenkopf Verbaende and the members of any of the different police forces who were members of the SS.

Also, here's a bit about your Deputy Prime Minister, Crystia Freeland, her background and how this is playing out in Canada. Go to about the 14 minute mark and you'll see her at a loss for words. I'd encourage anyone to watch this. It's only about 17 minutes long.

As I said way earlier, in Germany this man (Hunka) would be put on trial. Instead, he gets a standing ovation in Canada.

Did you even read what you quoted above. Canadians deal with people who support fascists. You, on the other hand, support...

    Do you support Putin?
It would be just be "Boo!" if you weren't making up (or repeating) lies about Canada.

Your claim I'm defending fascists or their troops is ridiculous?

If it's "ridiculous" then why are you introducing fallacious arguments to talk about Putin? Your argument that opposing praise of a Nazi constitutes support of Putin is the second most ridiculous thing in this thread. The most ridiculous thing was when @LiveUninhibited called the Nazi his friend.

Is there a reason you claim opposing praise of a Nazi equals support for a dictator? Is it only this Nazi that warrants such aggressively fallacious defenses or would you say this about praising any other Nazis? If I opposed praising some other random Nazi in South America would you tell me I must condone or deny the praise, as you are doing, or I support Maduro?

If anyone in this conversation supports violent dictators it seems it would be the person defending the praise of Nazis. So it's really not a good look for your posts to be so obsessed with Putin.

How come you can't respond to the issue at hand, Zoomie? Hitting too close to home so you have to go beating the bushes for 'worse Nazis'?

Face it, you Ukro fanbois haven't got a leg to stand on with this one. That's why you're so desperate to deflect attention away from it.

The last administration was far tougher on Putin than the one that proceeded it. The progressive narrative is not based on actions taken by administrations.

That's been there motive with Trump. "pile on as many false but negative narratives onto Trump and maybe with any luck, one or two might pan out to be true down the road?"

Trump's not pro Russia. He's pro America. American first. Which is something we can not say about democrats.

Heyyy....you hit the nail on the head for "worse Nazis" woogsie....don't forget Hugo Schmeisser...the dude who gave the Z-orcs the AK47....Klaus Fuchs who gave the Abombs for Zorcies....

Now,yes, getting back to topic of inconsequential "Inglorious Bastard" Hunka....yes, a wrong was done, speaker Rota resigned, Trudie "apologized ", a few wet diapers around.....next bonfire.

Whose desperate to deflect attention....woogsie....I never started a thread about it if you see?

Sounds like a case of ...whataboutism....for the "fiasco" special op that Dwafstan is losing.

Kazakhstan has announced yesterday it'll back sanctions against Botox chimp.....not good, do I foresee a "special op" in Kazakhstan?:)

More deflection. Must be *really* close to home, eh, Zoomie?

Btw, I didn't start the thread. You didn't either, of course. Your forte' is starting threads every time the Ukros manage to get a fart to go downwind.

It's an indefensible position that does not hold up to any scrutiny. That's why he's desperately trying to change the subject and accusing others of being immoral while pretending a Nazi wasn't being praised. Any inspection of the facts and his defenses fall apart immediately.

"You must support Putin for opposing praise of a Nazi. You have the immoral position, not me. I'm just rushing to their defense. You are criticizing the praise of a Nazi for immoral reasons. I'm defending those who praised a Nazi to signal virtue."

Yeah, assuming a morally superior position based on ignorance and blind allegiance is not a good look. Hey, let 'em have at it, though. It's child's play to refute it.
