Well, realistically it takes months to put together a case ... so ... what's timing to you?

Trump has been treated with kid gloves. Trump has also been able to delay through court filings - his best defense is delay and
hope he is re-elected. The rich really are treated different in our legal system.

It's a comment on your lack of legal knowledge; which is consistent.

I'm pretty sure he didn't charge himself 86Mil on purpose in the name of theater, nice theory though

we should take a poll of long time readers as to which one of us has a better understanding of legal issues.

No. Just no Bullseye. Impeachment is not a conviction, it is a CHARGE to be prosecuted in an upcoming trial. It is the legislative equivilant of executive power of criminal indictment.
    1. Lets not compare a legislative process which does not require any constitutional due process the legislative body finds inconvenient, with what a civil or criminal court demands
    2. Lets not conflate the legislative indictment (impeachment) in one House of a two bicameral legislature, with the conviction and removal in the second House after an impeachment trial.

You are not just comparing an apple with an orange, you are comparing an apple tree sapling ,with a fully ripened orange, ripe enough to fall off its limb.

But then you already knew that, didn't you? You also knew that this apple tree sapling was going to die, before the tree ever formed a single pollinated blossom, didn't you? Sounds to me like you are worried about that Orange falling!

Neither "stealing" documents nor bank fraud are egregious. Overthrowing our government is and I would not vote for him. But, other than in the reverie and machinations of his antagonists, Trump is a trillion parsecs from that.
Trump did not violate any emoluments clause, but it is not an egregious offense anyway. I didn't think Smith go that deep into the sewage barrel to go after emoluments. But thanks for clarifying that you know of no bribery.

You prove my point every time you post.

I don’t have my shingle hung out as a legal expert and use it to trump every one else on the board.

this is coming from someone who constantly denies having a searing hatred for Trump and yet doesn't understand what the term "traitor" means?

I don't hate trump, and I understand perfectly what "traitor" means. One day soon it will bye a synonym of trump. 8)

My vision of you and a law book is analogous to trump holding up a bible outside a church ... upside down in front of a court room looking way out of place.

I don't think we should ever elect a President who has committed ANY crime. Especially stealing documents that put our national security in jeopardy. But electing a criminal is a way to perpetuate corruption and to put our national security at risk. I don't know maybe I would prefer to keep us a democracy and... you know... I do kinda value the life of people who risk theirs to defend ours.

But, ok. I'll put you down as a "yes". You WOULD vote for a convicted criminal.

the issue is what is best for the country? a "saint" who wants to destroy American sovereignty, constitutional rights and freedom, or a scumbag who wants to uphold our rights and our borders? In this case, we have a senile turd, who is a pawn for some of the most evil haters of America the world has ever known versus a narcissistic boor, sore loser and braggart, but who at least appoints constitution protecting judges and supports American sovereignty .

And since it wasn't stupid we can deduce it wasn't droll? That's an odd statement but, thanks!

Huh? You believe that you have to be a "saint" to not be convicted of any crimes?

A senile turd who fixed the economy and brought us back from the brink of a depression to a thriving economy will do just fine, thank you.... So long as he's not convicted of any crimes, of course.

are you in a position to tell me that biden will appoint judges better for gun owners than Trump> or that Biden will be more zealous in protecting our borders than Trump?
