A lot of rightwingers are being hoisted on states' rights petard. NY taxpayers are not obliged to spend NY tax dollars enforcing federal laws. If we want to round up illegals, we have to get the feds to do it.

It's the government's obligation to enforce the law.

The only job not being done is the President's. If you want a say in NY, move there.

I do not understand the liberal mentality. I don't see any good in not securing our borders. I think since we live in a country that has a hard time taking care of its own citizens that we should make sure all of our resources go to our own citizens and only when all of them have all of their needs met should a single penny be spent on any immigrant

 

Just a theory of mine, but I think lefties deep down feel it's immoral to enforce borders.

 

I'd like to see Bragg answer questions as to why he put the policies in place that lead to the immigrant's release. If those answers are unsatisfactory to the residents of NYC he should be voted out of office.

Just a suggestion, but I think it might be white guilt, or perhaps success guilt. We have ours, so why shouldn't everyone else.
But no matter what it is, when we let our sovereignty be compromised we are no longer secure and are very close to never being America again.

How many times does it need to be said that Biden doesn't need negotiations to undo what he himself did? Also, there's a house bill that passed but the senate won't take it up because it's strict. Who are you going to blame for that?

States receive federal money for law enforcement and their financial obligation is negligible. All they have to do is enforce their own laws and when they check background status, they should check citizenship/immigration status and report it.
Any state that refuses to enact federal laws should lose all funds
