Because I believe there are crimes committed where the death penalty is a just punishment.

You answered my question? Why should all function by your morals? Whose morals should all function by? The collective moral? What collective? The state of Texas? Great, no problem there with the death penalty.

    Ive told you why.

The goal is the administration of justice. Or vengeance, which ever you prefer. Both are just as important in running a government as the medical profession.

Incarceration is not a just punishment for some crimes. Again, Im not concerned with the deterrant.

You call it vengeance, but I call it justice. And rest assured, I am a Christian.

Concerning the 'avenger', thats probably why God gave government the authority to administer the death penalty.

There is no evidence that the death penalty is vengeance in how it is provided for in the US. It is provided in the same manner all sanctions are, with the exception that it has greater due process protections than all other sanctions.

Greater protections seems to present an arguement against vengeance, in this case.

You also appear to misunderatnd the biblical meaning of an eye for an eye. The punishment system was changed, to make sure sanctions were more proportional to the crime, as opposed to the excessive punishments of the past - making them more just.

I already answered that on page 18 but if you want it simpler then call it hate and pure vengeance. I want him to pay the ultimate price. I can't say I wouldn't have a problem administering the drugs that kill him. I'm an emotional person but I would just think of her and do it.

What bothers me is how many forget the victim.

Vengeance has no place in Christianity. "Vengeance is Mine" sayeth the Lord. Not ours. We are to pursue forgiveness. Peace, love, joy, patience, goodness, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. The Fruits of the Spirit. The signposts of someone who has been touched by the Holy Spirit, according to Paul in Galatians. How does this dovetail with vengeance? How is justice and vengeance relevant to the medical profession, as you seem to be saying in your first sentence?

You think it's much better to be imprisoned for life if you are falsely accused of a crime?

Hmmm, I think that would decrease the number of confessions and people who deny any guilt and don't take any responsibility will be treated better than those who confess.

Although I see your point I think that's unworkable.

I am not sure about that topic. On the one hand there are criminals the society must be protected from on the other hand, it is a punishment which is in fact only for men of lower social status. With very few execptions. Women or men of a higher status will hardly ever face execution no matter how terrible their crimes are.

    Why was it just?

Ask ONE question at a time.

    No you haven't.
I have already explained I oppose it because it voids the opportunity to let the person in question go free if they are later found innocent. You have yet to explain what makes the execution justified. Do you believe in an eye for an eye?

So? Why are you justified in exacting revenge?

What if you weren't 100% sure, would you still do it?

The executed are quite often victims as well. Yes, they are forgotten it seems.

    OK, call it justice then.

You don't run a nation as you run a church.

As you said, vengeance is mine saith the Lord. So why do you ask about how that dovetails with vengeance.

I am not saying justice and vengeance are relevant to the medical profession. I am saying that mistakes that cost innocent lives are relevant to both.

It was just because it fit the crime.

Answer the question, or questions. Either would be an improvement.

Yes I did answer your question. The death penalty is necessary because it fits the crime.

Who cares about eye for an eye? Just adminster the death penalty as it should be administered.

Because it doesn't dovetail with what people are called to do and be. Be vengeful and bloodthirsty if you like, but don't disgrace the message of Christ in the process. Don't pretend to have any allegiance to the Prince of Peace.

Here is where you said justice or vengeance, which you use interchangeably, was connected to the medical profession. Did you really think you didn't?

I'm a supporter of the death penalty. I'm not a supportive of its flaws and that there have been tragedies where wrongfully convicted people have been executed though.

My opinion regarding the death penalty is not to cause pain or suffering on individuals convicted. I'm not interested in torturing people or anything like that.

My views are simple. What do we do with rabid dogs? What do we do with our own pets that suddenly go violent. We put them down. Same thing and way we should do with humans.

If some guy gets caught molesting a 5 year old and then chopping her up, he's a monster. We have a duty to our children and to society to kill monsters so they don't harm our loved ones. There is nothing barbaric about that at all.

Also realize that just because someone is in Prison doesn't mean that they can't communicate with the outside world. What of all of these parents of killed children that have to be dragged down every 5 years or so to the parole board to meet this guy again and plead their case so he'll stay locked up. What about the letters that these guys can send out to 'fans' and to the victims... Good lord! How horrifying is that, 20 years after your little girl was raped and murdered and you're watching this guy on TV or reading a letter that he wrote to you or someone you know.

People say that the murdering a killer won't bring peace. It may or may not. I don't know. But I do know that watching these people age, watching them get media attention years after the crime is over, watching them get interviewed...etc Is no peace at all.

If you brutally kill people for no real reason or no real motive, you are a monster. We can't afford to keep these people locked up and there is no reason to provide such people with three squares a day, medical treatment, sex visits by twisited fans... and all of the other messed up things that can happen.

I think, if the victims want the person dead, they get killed. As far as other countries not believing in it - so what? When their country gets a attacked or threatened, their same government has no problem dropping bombs and killing people - what's the difference?

Consider what your saying. You said, God said vengeance is mine. So, if vengeance is part of God, then why should it be so foreign to Christ.

You see. I don't disgrace the message of Christ. You do.

I am not pretending. I am a child and son of God. Brother of Christ.

    Who are you?

Connected in their importance in running a government. The comparrison made was to the mistakes that are made in both concerning innocent lives.

How did it fit the crime? Also, how does it become just by being equivalent retribution? Again you avoided my original question - how is retribution justified?

Ask me one question at a time and I will.

Another non sequitor. I can easily say it isnt justified because it fits the crime. You have yet to make the link as to how it is justified because it fits.

But how should it be administered? You just said 'it needs to fit' - that's an eye for an eye. By that principle you are condoning all forms of vengeance.

The point is vengeance is God's, not man's, according to scripture. You most certainly undermine the most challenging and extraordinary message that Christ brought to man.
How does your position exemplify the Fruits of the Spirit? You are a pretender in Christ, and have not understood the first thing about Him. He has not given vengeance as a tool of men, but has kept it as the sole dominion of God. Love is man's marching orders. Love of enemy as well as friend. Foolish love, excessive love, agape love.
You left Christ behind long ago.

Thats a lie. I have answered your questions. You simply keep repeating them in another form and pretending I haven't answered them. What your problem?

Ok. If your scared thats fine. I wont push you.

I have answered your questions. All of them.

Administer it so that the guilty dies. That not hard, is it?

So the medical field is connected to the importance of running a government?

But the difficulty is the "guilty" are not always so, and innocents are murdered.
You never answered if you would simply go quietly if it were you that were being led to the gas chamber in your innocence. Would it simply be the luck of the draw? Would you gently accept that you had pulled the short straw?

So justice, or vengeance in your vernacular, is the proper business of the medical profession?

If mistakes are made, they are made. You live with them. The goal is to execute the guilty.

Yes I would go quietly if I were innocent.
