Drove the northern Left Coast alot...they can have their rain and the greenery it produces. I'll take my desert mtns where you can see the 'personality' of the folds and peaks, and out-crops of flowering cacti and wild flowers during the monsoon season (July-Sept), for as my rain gauge reads thus far a grand total of 7" of rain....[IMG]

That 7" was the yearly total!---we get 1/2 our rain in Jan-Feb, and the other half duing Monsoon, so about 3" the last month. North TX 'used' to get 40"/year...!!

Yall are getting the fires that we normally get---some from cigarette butts thrown along the Hwys, other from dry-lightening strikes B4 the monsoons actually roll in. This year has been pretty quiet as far as wild fires---a lot of the brush et al was burned away in the past 5 yrs.

Did you ever hear the theory of the reason why baby 'animals' etc. are so cute?

So that the adult population will nurture them!

doesnt work with wild predators, however...ref male lions eating their non-sired young!

    (think many females of the human species are starting to lose their maternal instinct also..}

LOL...my DIL and I were discussing this the other day, after grandson had kept her up all night. I told her I remembered telling my youngest one it was a good thing he was so cute because he gave me lots of grief as a baby. Of course, I was joking, and he didn't understand what I said.

I think the instinct is there, by its very nature, but the lessons are all screwed up with some folks, and the sense of entitlement (ie, selfishness) is very strong these days.

Must be the lack of respect for a local "touristy" thing (?)

I finally embarrassed my daughter who had lived 50 miles from the Great Sand Dunes in S. CO for 5 yrs and never went to them!

I've been to the top of the Empire State Bldg at 5 YO when my dad was stationed in Long Island..still remember to this day that it scared the crap out of me when I looked down!

Had a g/f visiting from Nova Scotia, so I booked us on a Grayline Tour of Dallas. It was too funny... I spent the whole tour saying, "Really? I didn't know that!"

Yeah... let's talk about things in Beantown. Oh wait, that would mean we'd have to talk about Biden (he's doing 2 fundraisers there today).

    Let's talk about Indiana!

Hahahaha! Indiana isn't Yankee, but I do love it. Grew up there and it still feels like home when I go back.

Yeah, we do politics real big here in Beantown, not always well, but BIG! The dems are all up in knots hoping to oust Scott Brown. I don't see it happenin.

I loved Indiana... felt like home to me, too. Lots of wide open spaces. I like that. ;)

Good morning everyone. This morning what say we have some waffles. I hope that this is a good enough display for everyone here. So dive right on in and enjoy.

Now, seeing as my wife is going to be taking 2 weeks of her vacation time starting this morning, she is already making plans to keep me busy driving her around. This morning we are heading up into the park. I will try and get you some good fall photos. I am not sure just how many days of the next two weeks I will be available to make breakfast. I am sure that there will be a bunch missed. Just thought I would let you know.

Um, OT honey... could we have a note from your wife? I mean, I'm sure you're telling us the truth and all that, but we could starve here!

It's OK, though. Don't you worry about us... skinny is in.

Two of my grandaughters love waffles spread with Nutella. Beg to have it for breakfast every morning.

Send some to those coat hangers.
Good grief, do these girls look in the mirror and realize how ugly they are?

Bring it on OT, thank you.
