According to wikileaks, Julia is staunchly pro-American because she thinks its going to get her votes. As for Tony he's just appealing to his base of support who are just mindless supporters of the US, come rain, hail, shine, neo-con or liberal.

Yes, I do, just not the criminal ones.

Actually it does. An America that is economically derailed is bad for everyone - especially Americans.

    Yep, and Ron Paul does.

You are entitled to make the foregoing representations, and I am entitled not to believe you.

Not exactly. Australian education system is different. Not many unis have the 'college' aspect. College is part of high school for us.

    Counseling? What do you mean?

    why should it be?

sorry - but if I said I thought Bush was a better president than obama, it would have nothing to do with what I thought of what was good for americans, it would be because I thought his policies were better.

lols .... people outside the US aren't here to worry about whats good for you!

Sure you are entitled, but are you correct? I would say no, you would say yes, I would like to know how and why you say the latter. I think the why is, quite simply, you dont like my opinions - you dont actually contest my argument, you just dont like them. Hence the how is just 'out of hate', not out of intellectual objections.

haha, yep pretty much. Aussie are pretty divided on their view of the US, but think I would wager most are skeptical at base.

Obviously Megadeath disagrees with you. His recommendation of Paul is ostensibly done in the best interests of Americans. Do you think Meg is prevaricating?

because you mentioned bipolar - he took the word out of context.

although for a proper diagnosis he would need to go to a psychiatrist, not a counsellor.

No I don't like your opinions. I understand your world view. You would harness America like an ox in service to your world view. That will never happen. That frustrates you.

not really ... he mentions that an America that is derailed is bad for all of us - his concern re how that impacts on americans appears secondary.

quite frankly - I think most of us have got to the point where we wouldn't care what happened inside the US - if you have a bloody civil war that woul dbe your own lookout.

But the impact the US has on the whole world mean that US policies ARE a concern.

That is correct. He is incapable of seeing the insults he throws at other members. He doesn't realize that it is important for messengers to be able to deliver their message without their persona getting in the way.

    I don't think you do.

I think mega probably has more respect for the America that once was than many americans today do.

If what you say is true does it not follow that termination of the relationship between our countries is in everyone's best interest?

Perhaps I don't. Meg has no respect for America now or in the past. Americans perceive him as hostile in my opinion. If that is not the case, then his persona is counter productive.

no - because you will still impact on us whether you have a relationship with us or not ..

but wrt the increase in troops in Darwin - I think that being terminated would not be a bad thing at all.

based on posts on other threads - there are some americans who perceive you as hostile - I don't know that you can speak for all americans.

I may not speak for all the American people, but that doesn't mean Meg's persona is not offensive to virtually all Americans.

You haven't answered my question. Please elaborate.

    I very much doubt it.

Could you elaborate, I'm most interested.

    What will never happen?

    What does?

Could I answer? I consider American interests, as pursuits, and those of everybody else equally. The reason I oppose US imperialism is that it is a system that unfairly subjects the interests of its exterior (and interior) subjects to those of an elite few who construct its policy. If American foreign policy consisted of free trade, friendly relations, and so forth as the Founding Fathers instructed, I would have no problems because there would be no criminal activity and everyone's interests would be considered fairly and freely.

We've discussed the subject before. There is no need for me to further elaborate.
