I'm totaly agree with your name; that's real, Nationalism is not racism!

I don't disagree, but I think nationalism is loving your country over all others. So there can be benign nationalism, but too often nationalism turns into something ugly. Like it does in Africa, or the middle east!! I love America, and I am blessed to live here, but I would definitely say I am not a nationalist.

Nationalism may not be racism, but nationalism is just as if not more destructive than racism!!!

Have you ever heard about 'Gagauz People'. I wanna introduce myself, maybe this will be interesting for you.

Everybody knows me as a Turk in this forum. Actually I am not exactly a Turk because of my Turkish Nationalist views. (Me is a great example for your nick - my race is not exactly same with Turks but I am Turkish Nationalist)

In short, Gagauzes were orginated from a Turkic tribe in the past(Turks are also Turkic but we are not same, they are our cousins only), but our history and culture have some differences from typical Turks of Turkey. About 65% of Gagauzes are orthodox christian, 25% of them are evangelical Christian and 10% of them are muslim and other.

In Turkey we have about 15.000-20.000 population, generally live in Northwestern Turkey. Gagauzes in Turkey, totally adapted Turkish culture and they are predominatly muslim just like Turks. We have population live in United States(about 2000), and American Gagauzes are predominantly evangelical Christian.

The problem is identity consciousness. For example in Turkey, Gagauzes are nearly same with Turks(as I am just like a Turk most of time, I introduce myself as a Turk because I grow up with Turkish Culture - I don't know what exact Gagauz traditions are, probably I will get married with a Turkish girl.... Turkey is my country so I love here, I became a Turkish Nationalist) In US, they have been losing their identity becoming typical conservative American... lOL


We Gagauzes are on the verge of extinction maybe 200 years after we will be disappeared. Our total population is less than 300.000 in the World. (So I am a member of last Gagauz generation of millennium ) We and our culture have been dissolving.

So I need to be protected for being endangered :D :D :D

Gagauz language is dialect of Turkish, or Turkish is dialect of Gagauz... Lol. We orginally speak more faster, Turks speak slower. The words are nearly same.
