He bought the ticket. He is not taking money from the government, only from those who willingly gave it away. What is the problem?

Good on him. The guy got a lucky break just as he needed it. Unless he stole the ticket I don't see why people are so upset. Deport his illegal ass but give him his money that was won fair and square.

No it wasn't fair and square.

He was not legally allowed to play, or to retain his winnings...so how is that fair or square? It's neither. If the guy had come to the United States legally and had won the lottery....I would be very very happy for him, in fact it may cause me to get emotional watching him collect his check...I'm sure he would be all over the news with his rags to riches story that happens once you are a LEGAL citizen (or even legally visiting) the United States.

But, the guy is a criminal....he broke the law the very first second his foot crossed the border in the middle of the night...possibly with a sack of drugs intended for the nearest Jr. High. So, NO I do not think that he won anything fair and square. He is a criminal, and I am so sick of the way liberals are always there to protect them (didn't say that was you). But, they sure will (*)(*)(*)(*) on someones rights who calls themselves a tea partier, won't they? But, I want to ask you if you are tired of it too?

Does this'd even matter to the bleeding hearts? Read the quote in the post. I can not copy it because I am on my Droid.

Anyone, ANYONE can purchase a lottery ticket. . . or have someone purchase it for them. If the ticket is a winner, and the person lives in Congo. . .that person still has the right to the winning.

If you want the law to say that you have to be a resident alien, a tourist on a visa, or a citizen to purchase a ticket. . .you need to have these rules with the Lottery organization. . .but it has NOTHING to do with INS or homeland security!

By the way. . .how do you know that this man didn't COME to the US on a tourist visa, or a student visa? How do you know he wasn't "legal" when he purchase the ticket?

And. . .why not be concerned about his boss. . .the one who wanted to STEAL his winnings from him? If employers stopped hiring illegal aliens, there would be a lot less of them in this country. Until then, don't try to "invent" new laws to make those people suffer.

The money should be forfeit. It was won during the commission of a crime and would have funded the continuation of the crime.
