We are removing the contents of the old embassy building, it was coordinated and arranged with the Egyptian authorities...We are looking for a new place


The unadulterated anti-Israel (and anti-American) hatred of allegedly moderate, westernized english speaking arabs on this board and their wet dream to see an important peace treaty (that gave them back the entire Sinai) dissolved is noted though.

Though they are technically still at peace, it's hard to see how the relationship is not deteriorating:

The Egyptians are saying that it is important that they honor the agreements Egypt has signed on to, and therefore they will continue to abide the Camp David accords . . . but they're going to say that since Israel has not upheld the agreement, they are no longer required to do so either.

I think most people in the region would like to avoid a war, but they're moving away from talks, not toward.

 

The Egyptian Army is designed for internal repression. It is incapable of successfully launching offensive operations against an external foe.
