A large percentage of conservatives do not like Newt. Newt could not even defeat Romney who is a poor candidate to begin with.

Moving futher to the extreme right by the Republican party was a mistake (IMO). The has marginalized more moderate conservative minded people (such as myself) and the younger generation.

I think part of the reason Romney got the nod in the first place was because he has been more of a moderate. His recent flip flop towards ore radical extreme right stance may make a good part of the base happy but these people were going to vote Republican no matter who was running.

What he needs to do is get out the vote from the folks that were uncommitted .. either politically or just uncommitted to voting due to lack of interest.

The move to the extreme right does not help do this and in fact turns alot of people off.

Stop being argumentative his numbers went up to the highest point reaching that 3 weeks ago and he is in a virtual dead heat in the two polls I cited. But as far as the current polling that is being done, I don't put much credibility in it with the scewed demographics and assumptions the pollers admit they are making, such as a low evangelical turnout.

So. . .Romney keeps on going down. . .no matter how you want to look at it, even with the biased Rassmussen!

And, Obama leads Romney by a double digit when the question of "who would be better for middle income people" is asked.
Can I remind you that there are A LOT more middle income people than wealthy people in this country?

"The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Tuesday shows President Obama attracting support from 48% of voters nationwide, while Mitt Romney earns the vote from 47%. One percent (1%) prefer some other candidate, and three percent (3%) are undecided."

Notice I never said you did, straw man.

Tied in a dead heat on the only reliable poll out there.
[h=1]Poll: Plurality say polls biased for Obama[/h]"
A plurality of Americans and more than seven in 10 Republicans say pollsters are intentionally skewing results to benefit President Obama, according to a new poll released Tuesday.
Some 42 percent of voters surveyed by Daily Kos and SEIU believe pollsters are manipulating their sample sizes to benefit the incumbent president, while 40 percent do not. An additional 18 percent said they were not sure. That's evidence that Republican claims that Democrats and minority voters are being oversampled in national polls could be resonating — and potentially undermining the momentum of the president's early lead."

[h=1]Battleground Poll: Romney Up 16 with Independents, Up 13 In Enthusiasm[/h]

[h=2]In 2008, President Barack Obama won the independent vote over John McCain by a margin of eight points, 52-44. This morning, a new Battleground Poll has Mitt Romney massacring Obama among indies by a whopping 16 points, 51-35.[/h] That's a 24-point swing among independents since 2008, a group that makes up anywhere from a quarter to a third of voters, and yet Battleground still has Obama in the lead 49-48…?
But if I'm skeptical of those bottom-line numbers, our journalist overlords who have chosen to palace guard instead of question will declare me a "truther."
The Battleground Poll also shows an 13 point enthusiasm gap in Romney's favor. Only 73% of Obama's supporters are "extremely likely" to vote, compared to 86% of Romney's supporters.

And it's not even November yet and his numbers keep going up. Just can't stand it can you. Had to go back 4 months to try to find something to troll with after your post had been refuted and you fail at that.
