Why does right wing = 'crank', and why does a person on disability not have the right to own a gun? People get hurt at work and get sick, they go on disability because of it, this does not have anything to do with the right to own a firearm.

Like Consmike stated; This is one of the problems with banning legal gun ownership, it only takes the guns away from the people that follow the law, not the people that already own illegal guns.

If you want to make a logical argument, passing laws ONLY increases crime. A crime is something that is against the law. By definition, if there were no laws, there would literally be no crimes. This does not mean that nothing bad will happen, or that making new laws does not stop some people from immoral actions, but in many cases passing harsher laws creates more problems. The government could pass a law giving a death sentence to anyone owning an illegal firearm. This would not stop people from doing so, it would make those that do more likely to fight to the death before being caught with one.

Anyone that takes issue with my statements, feel free to refute them, but just know that I am only here to have a reasonable discussion with those people that have opinions that are not inline with my own so that I can better understand the other side of the argument. It seems that these discussions either take place between people that agree with each other (which does not solve the conflict) or it ends up with people simply trying to call people names in order to slander their position. If you do not agree with what I say please tell me WHAT I was incorrect about, and WHY.

 

The grandfather should be held accountable. It was his insecure weapon that provided the opportunity for this to happen.

Well agreed that since Australia has banned guns, their oppressed criminals and minorities have increased gun violence and robberies since their citizens are disarmed now.

But specifically relating to stopping Mass Shootings, the Australian gun ban exceeded expectations because they haven't had one in 20 years since the Port Arther Massacre.

I am no rightwing crank ( I am no leftwing wackjob either). I am a gun owner.. I own Pistols , rifles, 1 shotgun, 1 Revolver, Semi-autos and Bolt Actions. I store them responsibly, I have not had a single accidental discharge from any weapon that I own. I took the steps to make sure only people I trust have access to my firearms. Toddlers cannot get them.. insane fuucks cant get at them... rightwing wackos and leftwing wackos cant either.

I plan to hand down these weapons to my kids and I highly resent the tyrannical prick that proposes to take that right away from me because this nation has shiatty to non-existant mental healthcare and a few irresponsible idiots and criminals giving gun owners a bad name.

Outlaw cigarettes and tobacco, Outlaw alcohol... outlaw cars that go over 30 miles an hour...outlaw fertilizer bombs.. outlaw campaign corruption... when you can do all that successfully then you can ban guns.

 

Only an idiot would use that line of defense. Our countries laws and our rights are based on what was written when they used muskets.. Strangely enough it doesnt say we have the right to bear muskets it says arms.
