According to the rumor, Edward Snowden was actually a CIA "plant" (who didn't even KNOW he was being used as a plant),and who went through all sorts of gyrations to bring the Chinese top secret data---with the unannounced
approval of the CIA.

The data, of course has been very skillfully "tainted", and, if used, will harm the "thief" in a mind-boggling variety of ways !

This happened once before-in the 1960's: the Soviets were trying to steal some high-tech computer chips in Canada,and the person they "recruited" promptly notified the Royal Mounted Police-who handled national security matters back in the day.

The Mounties shared their info with the CIA, and the CIA furnished a set of "tainted" computer chips for the KGB to steal. The KGB agents went for the bait like hungry sharks, and were treated as heros --until the stolen chips started doing their thing.

Oil pipelines experienced massive pump failures, valves that were supposed to open stayed close, etc., etc. etc.

The Russians eventually replaced their computers-at huge cost- but never did figure out what had gone wrong !

If today's "water fountain rumor" is true , the Chinese and Edward Snowden might have a lot to talk about !!
