Consider that for a moment. Most of those 50 million people live in high-density cities. Many are proud owners of Obama phones, Obama food stamps, Obama unemployment checks and Obama subsidized housing. They have absolutely no clue that the government upon which they wholly depend to put food on the table is teetering on the verge of permanent collapse. (Seriously, they cannot conceive of the idea of government "running out of money" because they do not understand where money comes from.) Because of this distorted belief, they do not prepare for any future events other than more Obama handouts. Their entire "preparedness" plan is to vote for Democrats, because that's who they know will give them the most handouts. And they will always win the popular vote, too, because any politician promising to restore responsible fiscal spending to the government by cutting programs will be viciously accused of being "mean" or involved in "hating poor people." So the government handouts will only ratchet higher and higher, ensnaring more and more people, until the entire system is unsustainable and collapses under its own weight.

Obama and the Democrats are following the economic theories of Cloward and Piven. How could they go wrong?

Then come up with some idea to be able to get those people WORK to buy food with! If I couldn't find a job and I couldn't get food ANYWHERE, my next step would be SMASH SOME ********** IN THE FACE WITH A BRICK and take their food. You don't want hand outs, then you want ONLY market created private jobs, then on top of that you'd complain about starving people rioting. Good for them.

"...my next step would be SMASH SOME ********** IN THE FACE WITH A BRICK and take their food."

    Taxcutter says:
One moocher gets away with that exactly once. After that, the taxpayers are all packing Glock 21s.

With the number of taxpayers and moochers being roughly equal, I do think you have a very combustible mixture.

More and more people are getting on these programs. I am trying desperately not to take any govt assistance to live my life. But I'm right on the margins of needing the assistance. And for those of us here on the margins, the fact that we are watching a sizable section of our society that just sits on their ass all day and collects a check is pushing us to take the checks ourselves. There is going to be a tipping point for these hand-outs, in which people stop struggling to find their way in this economy, because at the same time they struggle, they have to look at millions of people who don't have to do anything to get by but collect govt money. It's getting old.

So what the govt. needs to do, if the private sector and the market doesn't generate jobs is CREATE JOBS, NO MATTER HOW and get money to the people. The hell with just accepting just whatever the market will bear.

This is the attitude that is forcing more and more people to get on these programs. Right now, what I am seeing is the private market can't offer jobs that compete with the govt money for sitting on one's ass. So why try to work?

Everyone knows where money comes from, and Obama has been creating forests of these in many of our National Parks as a hedge against bad economic times. You needn't worry about these "food riots" as long as the trees are watered and get plenty of sunlight.

My post was supposed to be sarcastic.

I'm in agreement, that the averge Joe Schmo out there railing against the rich and Corporatism is unaware the Government does not "make" money. It taxes those entities, individuals and corporations, that make money. This is how revenue is generated to pay for the entitlement programs, like SNAP, for example.

The notion of Communism is to shift the capital, or ability to make money away from individuals and corporatons and on to the Government..then the Government, as the revenue center, doles it out in equal shares so we're all a bunch of happy comrades!!!

    Yippeeee!

This is the progressive ideal....pretty much Animal Farm.

Welfare isn't the reason jobs don't exist. Welfare exists because the jobs aren't available.

You are right, except for the reasoning that some pigs are more equal than others so they deserve more, and more.

George Orwell describes it best here:

"Seven Commandments" redirects here. For the Noahide code, see Seven Laws of Noah.

The pigs Snowball, Napoleon, and Squealer adapt Old Major's ideas into "a complete system of thought", which they formally name Animalism. Soon after, Napoleon and Squealer indulge in the vices of humans (drinking alcohol, sleeping in beds, trading). Squealer is employed to alter the Seven Commandments to account for this humanisation, an allusion to the Soviet government's revising of history in order to exercise control of the people's beliefs about themselves and their society.[42]

    The original commandments are:
1.Whatever goes upon two legs is an enemy.
2.Whatever goes upon four legs, or has wings, is a friend.
    3.No animal shall wear clothes.
4.No animal shall sleep in a bed.
    5.No animal shall drink alcohol.
6.No animal shall kill any other animal.
    7.All animals are equal.
Later, Napoleon and his pigs secretly revise some commandments to clear themselves of accusations of law-breaking. The changed commandments are as follows, with the changes bolded:
4.No animal shall sleep in a bed with sheets.
5.No animal shall drink alcohol to excess.
6.No animal shall kill any other animal without cause.

Eventually, these are replaced with the maxims, "All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others", and "Four legs good, two legs better!" as the pigs become more human. This is an ironic twist to the original purpose of the Seven Commandments, which were supposed to keep order within Animal Farm by uniting the animals together against the humans and preventing animals from following the humans' evil habits. Through the revision of the commandments, Orwell demonstrates how simply political dogma can be turned into malleable propaganda.[43]
    See:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Animal_Farm#Pigs

It appears that our elected politicians believe that, "All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others". Solely by exempting themselves from the very laws they impose upon the people that elected them.

Why do you shill this horrible documentary?

Let me sum it up for you people. Th powerful are getting favors from the government so we need to raise taxes so government has more money to spend on the powerful who are buying favors from the government so we have to raise taxes to spend on the powerful...etc... It then argues that if people who made money had more of it taken away they would have closer amount of income to the poor. Especially of we have them their money. Basically just some Marxism and backwards logic. Why the 50 posts about this documentary?
