That should be illegal. I hope Medicare or your private insurer went after them.

This is an old story from January of last year.

There have been steps taken to rectify this problem.

The Affordabe Healthcare Act has taken steps to reduce fraud in Medicare. The data collected in this audit was 2008 to 2010 or 2011, I don't recall exactly, but if you need, I will find the intimation.

Well, we stopped it before it was too late. We refused to give back the device, and we called both the sleep apnea specialist and medicare to confirm that we didn't have to turn the device back in to them.

At the end. . .they were not happy with us, and even tried to "limit" the supplies we were getting (like filter for the device, new hose, new mask, etc. . .), but they had no choice but to comply.

But what about all the OTHERS they have fooled that way?

Unfortunately, human nature is to steal from others. I see it every day, when we have customers bring in estimates from other shops and 80% of the time, it's hundreds of dollars more than any actual repairs they need done. Hell sometimes it's even parts listed as needed replacing that their car doesn't even have.

I never said that a nurse was as well trained as a Dr and I won't get involved with your stupid back and forth about whether that is what I said or not. If you continue I'll simply report you and let a moderator decide.

Go PM one if it makes you feel happy.
You got a gripe with physicians and he made a lame attempt to link fraud and private healthcare providers.

Why do you all continue to persist to have big centralized gov involvement and control? All this does is make it political instead of being solved at the lowest levels; city, county, state.

Utter BS. You are off by a magnitude of 1000!

The cost of the inability to negotiate price discounts for Medicare has Medicare paying DOUBLE or MORE for drugs compared to the VA.

And the pharmaceutical pirates even price their generic drugs close tot he brand name price, and Medicare legally HAS to pay that inflated ripoff price.

That's TENS of BILLIONS of dollars and MORE in inflated prices to the drug companies for a Republican created clause in the Part D bill.

Its sad to think that the Republicans have simply GIVEN away to the pharmaceutical companies a majority of the money that Obamacare is going to cost with NO RETURN WHATSOEVER for the taxpayers or the American people, except, of course, to enrich the pharmaceutical company government welfare hogs.

Agreed. This is part of the essential checks and balances that are the government's primary operational power. The government is here to protect our rights, and the way they do that is by "checking" and "balancing" the factors and forces that would mitigate them. So if the checking and balancing isn't occurring, it means government is falling down on the job. It's not the private sector's fault, they're there to make a profit and nothing more, and they don't much care whether they make if off the government or directly off their customers. The fault lies with the government for failing to regulate.

Do you realize that hospitals regularly charge ten dollars for a pill that costs them 3 cents? It's part of what they call "cost shifting". So, if the government doesn't want to overpay, there are at least half a dozen ways they could regulate the hospital, the industry, and the billing practices in order to prevent that from happening.

But our government is not doing that. Why not?

It's the government's job to enforce on these fraudulent providers. It's what we pay them for. If they're not doing it, they're not doing their job. We should probably stop paying 'em if they're not doing the job, dontcha think?

Did you miss the part where the government recovered the majority of the money?

Maybe you'd like to help squidward out. Can you find a post of mine where I said what he claimed? Because it's not in the post you quoted.

Yeah, after the fact. That's kind of like going to the Syrians and asking for your weapons back.

No thanks. I fight my own battles, of my own choosing. It's not about you.

It's actually nothing like that. It's more like catching bank robbers and recovering what was stolen.

Are you sure? You seemed like you wanted in on squidwards embarrassment when you quoted us.
