No 1st step, the only step. That aside and soldiers placed...how can you call into question the outcome?

Then that puts you in the same league as terrorists. Congratulations!

It does not define waterboarding as torture, nor are TERRORISTS COVERED by it. OOOPS!

    - - - Updated - - -

Or so has been established in US Federal Courts.

    Keep making up nonsense.

    Uh--no. More madeup bull(*)(*)(*)(*).

You do know that there was much more than just water boarding going on right? Not to mention one guy died if you were listening to the report of Hypothermia from that technique. We also conducted rectal probes, banging folks against the wall, and sleep deprivation.

Yes the report spells out 39 received harsh interrogation so how are they not terrorists?

Wow, I'm so sorry you hate your own country. I myself am proud of what our nation has done to help those in need, with clothes, food, medicine, and on and on. Americans are giving and wonderful people, and yet you find fault with them. Maybe there is another country that would fit into your world

Doesn't matter whether they were terrorists or not. We agreed with the Geneva Convention not to torture terrorists, sister Teresa, or anyone.

No, it is you that will realize this, but I'm afraid it will be too late. I know you are the same age as me, so we will probably not see the disintegration of our nation, but your ideology will eventually erode those of us that see the greatness in the United States. BTW, you might want to get in touch with Obama, because I doubt he feels the same as you do

This is what you will end up with, it is human nature to destroy societies. We are not the first, and we certainly won't be the last. Liberalism is a cancer

Geneva convention does not cover terrorists or spies.

That would change today if islamo-nazis determine the outcome, and they just may succeed. I don't think they will care or respect Switzerland's neutrality.

We do have the defense capabilities, but that is eroding quickly thanks to liberal democrats. Some country will be the top dog, and you may not like the results if that changes for the United States

Some of these people that were tortured were released. Which meant they were not terrorists or spies. So how do you justify torture based on someone who is not a terrorist? Answer, you can't. Your argument is totally ridiculous based on that reality. SMFH!

Yes, dear. . .this is why France, and Germany and Spain have survived for milleniums. . .in spite of wars and invasions.
Are we weaker than those countries?

It is true that we have NOT been really tested by an invasion of OUR country. . .although we have invaded several other countries!
It is true that we still believe that "war is the answer," maybe BECAUSE we haven't had a war (with the exception of the civil war) on our land.

So how do we know we are so strong?

How do we know how our brave soldiers would feel fighting abroad if they didn't KNOW that their own family is secure in the US?

We may be the same age. . .but you seem far younger in term of your vision of what lies beyond these borders!

Releasing someone proves they weren't terrorists? What kind of logic is that? As far as the ones released how many of the 119 were deemed to no longer be a threat only to return to killing? What a stupid assertion.

I am pragmatic, and those countries you listed survived and continue to survive in good part because of the United States. You have a good deal of faith in thinking islamo-nazis will bend to your wishes, that being so very naive.

Do you care about the innocent who were tortured?

    What? There were no "innocent"?

The CIA doesn't make mistakes and priests don't fondle little boys and politicians never lie.

The CIA renditioned a man named Mahar Arar, a Lebanese Canadian traveling on a Canadian passport to Syria so they could get information on terrorists for them. The only problem is them guy they were looking for was Mahar Ali Arar, of no relation and who never traveled on a Canadian passport.

Mahar Arar was systematically sodomized and beaten for two and a half years before the US would let him go.

That is with diplomatic pressure. How man local villagers are being tortured that don't have connections? How many of them and their friends have BECOME terrorists because of those kinds of mistakes.

Neocons ... can you name a single political official who claims to be a neocon?

    No ... I didn't think so.

The torture report absolutely had to say that torture doesn't work.

Otherwise it would have become official policy for the USA and morale would go out the window. Don't doubt it.

Now the torture techniques are going away, back into the closet, officially at least. Never again will they be used as part of public policy.

This all suits me because of my ideology but part of me wonders if this was the plan all along. Does the CIA want to bury this chapter of their history? Maybe....

More madeup BULL(*)(*)(*)(*). What was "going on" that was more severe than waterboarding.

Furthermore, I don't give a flying (*)(*)(*)(*) WHAT we do to the savages we are at war with, quite frankly..

And the CIA was in control of the Syrian prison at the time? Get out of here. This is no different than what happens to US citizens in Mexico every day. BTW Out of the 119 reported how many were innocent? You seem to have all the facts so why do you enlighten us all?
