Title. Lets say every God/Deity existed and fought a war in the skies for world domination. As a human who would you support and worship? Base it on your morals and the teachings of that Religion.
I would support a carefully selected subset which no doubt would include several gods as explicitly proposed by current and previous religions. Most of those wouldn't even know how to deal with a heavenly war or care to. Under some circumstances, I could be persuaded to join whichever I thought would win out of purely utilitarian motives.
"I am the Truth,... and the way and the life"... John 14:6 Truth now is being offered to us here in accord with each persons' perspective for Truth, ... even those who are dead wrong about The Truth. I suspect people will deny that Truth has become Lord over all the world, in spite many people still try to sell lies. But the world does recognize Truth as the light into Reality and they do accept it as they come to see it as Truth,... even though in many ways Truth hurts because people live in a world built on lies. Christ said "I am the Truth,"... personified in 32AD deified by Christianity, and he was correct.
Odin, as he said he would banish the Ice Giants and I have never seen an Ice Giant so he must have kept his word.
Jesus said he would return w/in the lifetime of his followers who were alive then, so he did not tell the truth, so I'm thinking that maybe Odin is a more true god. - - - Updated - - - Unless they can PROVE that the FSM is not real, I'm going to have to vote for him (Her? It? His holy noodliness?)
Gods are countless in numbers in different cultures. Greek Gods, Pagan Gods, Hindu Gods etc. I do not know which Gods I worship and which Gods can be pleased faster.
The concept of a bunch of Gods fighting a war says more about the concept of religion and the moral values of religion than any religious critic could wish for in his wildest imaginings.
"Winners write the history", huh? - - - Updated - - - BTW, I wasn't offered Cthulhu and the Elder Gods... so I went with Flying Spaghetti Monster, cuz I can eat me some bread-sticks.
Eh, I like Buddha, but he really isn't a god, and fighting for world domination would kinda nix the things I like about him. I second the Cthulhu option. If you are going for world domination, go all-in. Out of the options given, though, I have to say the Norse gods, hands down. All of the others will probably be in for a psychological war, scared to lose, but the Norse guys? They already think they are going to die in Ragnarok and they are fighting anyway. They'll fight like madmen. They've already confronted their fears.
No one. They are not fighting for me. And I imagine their war, like most, will make my life suck for its duration. If I did support one, though, it would be Nun- the Egyptian Primordial Entity of the Abyss. All that is plays out in the hold of Nun, the void. Eternal, formless, timeless.
