    Fight inbreeding, ban country music.

    I recall one musician saying of the rock music he played that he had to play "ugly'. With country it's stupid too.;

What really gets me are the accents. Nobody really has those accents, the singers themselves don't show them in normal conversation, but as soon as they pick up the guitar they somehow become born and bred West Virginia coal miners, and this from people born in San Francisco, amazing.

Yep, rich Hollywood stars, going on about all they have is their pickup and their 44. Great, make it 'REAL' Garth

Long ago when Tennessee was the western frontier,

It was settled by a strong young man and his bride so dear.

They had a lot of children: the sons tall, the daughters fair.

They lived atop a mountain and thrived in the fresh air.

As Tennessee became a state, the population grew.

The grancchildren they welcomed came to number 62.

There weren’t enough people around, so before old grandma died,

She was at four grandson’s weddings with granddaughters as the bride.

    She’s my great grandma

    And great great grandma

    And great great great

    And she really was great.

    She’s my great grandma.

Their offspring were more patient but the Civil War drew near.

They thought they’d die in battle. 'Twas a reasonable fear.

They went and married cousins as the only gals around,

And after the war cousins were the only people found.

    She’s my great grandma
    And great great grandma

    And great great great

    And she really was great.

    She’s my great grandma.

So when I look in the mirror or at this cousin of mine,

I see ev'ry generation of our noble fam'ly line.

I feel no guilt about it, so don’t try to bring us shame.

I’m so proud of that great couple who built our family name.

    She’s my great grandma

    And great great grandma

    And great great great

    And she really was great.

    She’s my great grandma.

You are so correct! Inbreeding, they're all identical, like dozens of quadruplets...

Last night I watched, between naps, that country awards show and every male singer was i - den- ti - cal to the next male singer :

    Same voice..

    Grey tee-shirt..

    Grey baseball hat...

Two day beard...Beard EEEEEssential, essential, got to have it.

    Weird!

I really couldn't tell one from another....oh, that Shelton guy is recognizable because his face is all over the place like a gnat...but the rest? Identical.

The difference was noticeable especially afterwards when I watched Austin City Limits which has lesser known singers..

Great country band, singer had SHAVED, his voice was good and sounded different from the last 8 I heard! I would recognize his face if I saw him again !!

I could hear the words to the songs which were good and the last one funny/sad but Oh So Country, , "I don't want to die in a Super 8 Motel"

Ya, he was wearing grey but nobody's perfect...Jason Ubell (??)

I think the requirement to being on Austin City Limits is that no one outside Austin has heard of you.
The first time I watched was back when I read the tv listings every hour and saw Linda Lewis was the performer.
The Linda Lewis I knew plays piano, organ, xylophone and used to lead a church choir,
It wasn't her. She was singing House of the Rising Sun.
Until that night I believed my uncle wrote that.
(It was one of the 2 commercial songs he could play perfectly.)

Yup, sometimes "not being heard of" is a good thing.

A performer who hasn't been heard of means they haven't been cloned to a stereotype fit to sell to the masses.....

It helps if the rent is at least up to date.
Would you like to buy $1700 worth of intellectual property?

I have no idea what you're talking about.

Let's just say I prefer good unknown artists to popular cookie cutter "artists"

My work is unknown, unlike any other, and I need money fast.
To get my rent and utilities up to date I will sell you the rights to anything I've already written, including claiming authorship if you wish.
You may also commission any form of literature you want written.

There's a disgustingly misguided trend in the developed world coming out of idiotic educational theory. This tells us no matter how little talent anyone has they should be given their moment of 'creative glory' in the spotlight. Recently I was subjected to a concert by a local Tasmanian gay and lesbian choir. Not a single individual in the group could sing in tune. Made my hair stand on end. I'd rather run my fingernails over sandpaper than ever be subjected to this horrifying noise again.
This form of madness is being repeated over and over in the West by various disadvantaged groups to the avid applause of well meaning but totally misguided and tone deaf audiences. No recording of the event I suffered through ( I escaped at interval) was made - - hooray ! -- so I can't subject you to it's wondrous musicality.

The western world, by dividing peoples into races with the stamp of inferiority on those they temporarily subdued has invited a biteback that hurts everyone.
Think about the famous people of the past 5 decades. Everywhere we're supposed to applaud the first black, woman, Asian or homosexual to do anything, including get appointed to jobs just because they'll become an instant celebrity, or achieve a sports record a black might have held from the beginning if permitted to compete evenly.
Reporters make a big deal of the Olympic athlete with imperfect eyesight, only one living parent, or a recent death in the family as if that's a handicap that makes a bronze medal harder to achieve.
Right now that category of people is trying to make every event a big deal.
I'm the best 55-year-old white male 5 foot 7 jobless miscegenous ambidextrous abolitionist prohibitionist singer-songwriter in southern Woonsocket, Rhode Island.
    I deserve a contract!

I'm an untrained tenor. The voice is solid and I usually get the words right. Howecer I have trouble keeping in synch with other voices and the music.
So for my songs I usually do best a capella, even though some of them, including original tunes like the Northeast Livin' bland vanilla Blues, require a guitar or banjo.
To make matters worse when I sing a famous song my brain hears not my voice but the original artist. as a result I sing impressions and think I'm doing a much better impression than I really am.
It's best therefore that many of my songs are written in a humorous way even when they describe serious matters like the Holocaust.
The best ones are the ones openly comical and self-deprecating like Screamin' like a Banshee, playin' on my banjo.

Good for you, unlike so many who have been deluded by others into thinking they have talent and have none, you know where your strengths and limitations lie and sing accordingly.
