It is in a way. In modern English usage, the word racism does now mean the hatred of a distinct group of people whether they come from one country or of a particular colour or a religion. The meaning of words is constantly changing . Otherwise, the word racist is redundant as all humans are from the same race.

I've never had much of a problem with most LEGAL immigrants.
