Trump had 14 million voters in the primary, more than any Republican ever. :roflol:

Trump is the Democrats worst nightmare, can you say "surprise landslide"?

Yes. And he is surging in the polls. Lol. I love it

    - - - Updated - - -

If he is a populist....why would it be a surprise? Can you say delusions of grandeur?

It won't be a surprise to me, because I realise that the liberal mainstream media, like CNN, loves to distort reality.

The same thing happened when Reagan landslided Carter in 1980.

The liberal media had Dukakis up 15 points in the summer of 1988.

Just like all the liberal media polls said that England would stay in the EU.

Then liberals get really shocked when they lose, it's really funny.

1980's references. This is hilarious. You know Douglas was up by 20 points in the polls over Lincoln. Damm liberal media. Lol

Would you consider that there may be more than two kinds of people in a nation of 300,000,000? Just consider it. I know you've been told there are two, and that you have to pick one of the two to be, but consider that your source may have had something to gain by getting you to believe that.

Can you even articulate what the difference is, ideologically, between Trump and what is considered a "mainstream republican"? I challenge you to do that. Let's see if you have any clue what is going on in the world around you. Feel free to spin the narrative so that it is insulting to both sides. But demonstrate some actual knowledge of the material. Only partisan insults and misinformed mockery of alleged infighting doesn't cast you in a very positive light. So show us you actually have the brains to justify holding such strong opinions.

There is no alleged infighting. The GOP hates its own candidate. Is this news to you?

It is beginning to look like Trump can win just by using the internet - for free. What a deal! ;-)

Misinformed mockery always worked well until the MSM and the major parties flushed away their credibility.

That was a lot of untruths, there.

The polling showed Reagan well ahead as early as September, 1980. So, please be honest.

Also, yes, the polls showed Dukakis way ahead in the summer of 88, because he was. He lost the lead because he vacationed for a month instead of campaigning as he should have.

And actually, a majority of the English polls showed a majority FOR Brexit. So, please be honest about this too.

Why do people think they can tell untruths with impunity?

    Wow....

There is no infighting. The RP/DP political establishment are very unified.

The old ballgame was over as soon as Trump and Sanders entered the race. Just sit back and relax - buy popcorn. ;-)

Will is an elitist snob. Both parties have their share.

It's a different world today politically, Will can't keep up.

    Is this September? No.

And, Carter was ahead until October.

Dukakis lost because he was an unlikable candidate, just like Hillary Clinton

And, ALL the media polls showed England staying in the EU.

    Why bother to lie?

Here's some more facts for you ...

♦ In 2008 there were 38,111,341 Democrat votes in the primary. In 2016 there were 28,269,195. A net decrease of 9,842,146 (-29%)
♦ In 2012 there were 19,214,513 Republican votes in primary. In 2016 there were 30,261,999. A net increase of 11,047,486 (+57%)

Many of us had decided not to vote until Trump came along. We certainly didn't care much to play the politics game where each party's constituents race to see whose platform can be most irrelevant to the jobs government actually does. Or which party can best utilize the coordinated dumbing down of the public that has left perfectly literate, apparently interested political observers unable to articulate the ideological differences that underlie the apparent schism within the gop that would prove more relevant to the thread topic and more interesting and educational. But you think political discussion is cheering for your side to win and jeering the other side.

Now that Trump has come along, is finally talking about trade and globalism and extreme high level government corruption WHILE smacking around both party's establishments in the media, SUDDENLY THE GAME IS WAY FUN TO US!

Because now that the discussion is about trade and globalism and government corruption, instead of the irrelevant pop issues that the media usually inundates us with to distract from those, unwitting party establishment disciples blissfully start threads that remarkably expose and revel in their ignorance of actual relevant, important topics, as if the science of economics itself is to blame for not making any sense to them.

We are having HUGE fun playing this little game now that Trump has risen to political relevance. Only he has been capable of forcing the media to cover serious issues LIKE TRADE. And now that the discussions have started, we just have to hope that there are enough voters caught somewhere on the mass media induced hypnosis train who are intelligent enough to be jarred awake by the blatant failure of any establishment supporter of EITHER party to ever say one damned knowledgeable thing about trade or economics.

We just have to hope!! So the game is fun now and we are staying and playing, and expect more people to reject the estabmishment when they finally get sick of being confused about ideological and economics concepts and put forth the HARD WORK and EFFORT required to develop an adequate foundation in economics.

All you have are political promises and we know what they are worth. Trump has no record. He used to be a liberal democrat. Who knows what he will be in a year?

When was he a liberal democrat? I have him on Larry King 20 years or so ago tentatively agreeing that he was an "east coast Republican", which would make him moderate, but he has truly never sworn allegiance to any ideology. This is good for me, since I think people do that because they are stupid and can't think for themselves.

What you perceive as "switching sides" is actually just being open minded and refusing to be an ideologue. You are brainwashed by the media to believe that everyone must be an ideologue of some sort, and that you must be one yourself, lest you be labeled a hypocrite or a flip flopper who can't be trusted.

But if you are able to shake off your conditioning and look at things objectively, you should see that all legitimate paths to knowledge require flip flopping, such as the scientific method, when new information, observations, or conditions arise.

From your response, I can tell you have a long way to go before this is going to make sense to you. Our hope is that there are enough people that it will click for who will realize how duped they are by the political establishment and will be angry enough to vote Trump. We understand that not everyone is reachable. We were the gifted children in school, easily beaten democratically by the more highly populated students of average intellect. But some of you are still capable of learning complex things. We just hope there's enough.

Of course, Trump also has some tricks to get dumb people to vote for him without any of them understanding even the basics, something any politician needs to have any chance of winning. So I don't blame him for that.

His true message is only accessible to open minded true intellectuals, and there aren't nearly enough of those to win an election.

Trump has 'tricks' like pulling an image from a neo nazi/white supremacist web site and making it into a campaign ad?
Keep in mind that every neo nazi group in the US has endorsed him. So Trump is after the neo nazi vote?

IMHO, Trump used to be a joke. NOW he's scary... and so are you if you refuse to see what he is.

Is your self esteem so low that you only bothered to respond to the part about dumb people?

Does this not tell you that your humble opinion needs to be upgraded with some sort of education?

It's intriguing to watch so many respected, conservative better-dead-than-blue Republicans thoroughly repulsed by the infestation of Trumpery, their country club cerebral confections befouled by putrid, rabid emotions.

I had occasionally suggested that the elective stranglehold that the Republican/Democratic duopoly had fashioned for itself precluded the rise of a viable third party, but that an internal coup within one of the two extant party structures was a far more practicable prospect.

Moribund GOP stiffs, in the wake of Boy Bush's Iraq caprice and economic collapse, were vulnerable to the TP berserkers, the GOP's angry, alienated long-suffering patsies, and the apotheosis of nitwit Palin presaged the collapse of the Establishmentistas.

Enter a crass, brash casino sharpie with a penchant for getting the unwashed masses to stake their meagre caches on a roll of his loaded dice. "Follow ME, and you'll all be WINNERS when I WIN!"

"Racist ME? I can't help it if neo-nazis and white supremacist love ME! Doesn't everyone?"

"Misogynist ME? Why some of my favourite trophy wives are woman!"

"Religious bigot ME? Why some of my favourite daughters are Jews!

It'll be captivating to observe the GOP's convalescence once the fever abates.

Why do the worst of us support trade deals that would shield the U.S. from disastrous effects of our strict labor laws mixed with free trade?

Why do the worst of us deplore unethical treatment of foreign laborers by our businesses?

    What is bad about that?
