None of it achieves anything. It's a waste of time, talents, and money.

Those are just a few quick thoughts I had. I don't think this is an anomaly. Sure, I could be mistaken. My gut feeling says I'm not. My gut has been right more times than wrong.

Oh, do you mean now that the doctor has gone to jail, questions are no longer being asked because everyone think that the imprisonment should conclude the matter?

That and I think the Olympics should have stopped until these matters were fully investigated in all countries participating.

That's an example of what I was talking about, but on a larger scale.

    Often times it's very intentional.

The atomic bombs dropped on Japan were specifically dropped where they would kill as many civilians as possible. In fact, while they gave warning for the second bomb, dropped on Nagasaki, the bomb dropped on Hiroshima had no warning beforehand. This was because they wanted to kill as many people as possible to maximize the psychological effect the attack had on the Japanese people.

In the wars with Native Americans, the US government regularly killed civilians. The most infamous was the Wounded Knee Massacre, where a regiment of soldiers rounded up hundreds of men, women, and children, and shot them all point blank range. Over twenty soldiers were given the medal of honor for their part in the massacre, because they lied about what happened and claimed that the natives had attacked, even when eye witness accounts of the event said otherwise. Prior to the massacre, the soldiers had been collecting rifles from the natives. The massacre occurred when one of the soldiers shot a deaf native who didn't understand that they wanted his rifle. Even after several people told the soldier that the man was deaf and asked to let them take the rifle for him, the soldier simply shot the man in the chest at point black range, and took the rifle from his body. This prompted an immediate shooting spree from other soldiers, who believed that the natives had started attacking, and it ended with around 300 people died immediately, or later from wounds, including 25 soldiers, who were killed by natives who had retrieved their rifles and began killing soldiers once the massacre had started in order to defend themselves and the women and children.

During the Vietnam war, the US regularly dropped nepalm on villages which had nothing to do with North Korea or the Viet Cong. In fact, many Viet Cong fighters later in the war were South Vietnamese who had originally opposed the Viet Cong, and joined in order to fight against the US forces, who they saw as a threat following attacks on civilians.

And yet again we see into the mind of a typical Trumpbot...their first response is to generalize people they have never met as 'limp wristed, globalist leftists'. My...how intellectual.

Think carefully...so far in the 21'st century, who has killed more innocent civilians? And who has attacked/bombed/invaded more countries? North Korea or America?

    The answer is 'America...by miles'.

Sure, the NK regime is horrible and repressive. But in terms of violating international laws and killing the innocent...they are amateurs next to the U.S. of A..

If you cannot see that, you have been drinking too much Trump-flavoured, Kool-Aid.

You want to throw innocent people in jail for exercising their first Amendment rights.

Typical alt-right attitude...embrace the Constitution until it is no longer in your own best interest to do so.

If there is anyone here who is for violating the Constitution and - therefore - acting treasonous...it's you, IMO.

You mean like your first response is to generalise someone you have never met as a "typical Trumpbot?"

This was a diplomatic deal between North and South Korea instigated by the South. It's objective was to cool the tension between those two states. The North and South had been exploring the possibility for some time. At North Korea's invitation, the South has agreed to travel to Pyongyang for talks. The U.S was not part of the deal. The Olympics was a perfect entree to diplomacy like the ping-pong tournament with China.

He said double tap drone strikes. That's deliberate. The second strike on the same location a few minutes later is meant to kill the first responders.

I'm more surprised Kim Jong-un allowed this athletes to leave the country; I wouldn't be surprised if he had the original athletes shot leaving the North Korea border mistaking them for defecting to the South. Then he was like 'oh, damn, they were our athletes...bring some more!'

How does "double tap" mean deliberate?

Did you read the article? After a missile from the sky hits, everyone scatters. Except first responders, who run IN. Then the drone attacks those giving aid to the wounded, knowing damn well that that's who will be there. Because it's common sense.

Yes I did read the article and it says that it was a mistake. If they think that it is an enemy occupied zone, then they will think that the first responders will be enemies too.

Yeah, that story doesn't wash. The article says, "The practice is being used more often". You don't repeat "mistakes" and make it policy to increase their frequency.
