We wouldnt have to get rid of all laws to acconplish that. We would just have to stop restricting the purchase of inanimate objects, which the gov't doesnt have the constitutional authority to do anyway outside of a constitutional amendment. ever wonder why we amended the constitution to ban alcohol, but not for marijuana?

A million things are illegal. That does not deprive of gun ownership.

Another plan to justify building more prisons. Prisons, lawyers, courts... all big business.

I suspect pot smokers are too zonked out to care if they own a gun or not

So it should be a good place for gun grabbers to begin their conquest

Actually illegal guns or "throwdowns" can purchased well below retail prices especially if they "have a body on it." I've seen 9mils go for as low as a 100 bucks. This isn't a good thing, but another example of how laws only affect law abiding citizens.

To answer the question, no medical mj users should not be prohibited from gun ownership.

I'm having trouble figuring out who this law is even supposed to appeal to.

Hmm, do guns and MJ mix? Having done a tour in Viet Nam where most of us were high most of the time, I may have some expertise in this. I'd let you know what it is but thankfully I can't remember.

Marijuana is illegal because it's bad and bad because it's illegal. The true epitome of conservative "logic"

I didn't see the democrats reversing that law when they had control of congress so what's this conservative logic you are rambling on about?

Democrats had a supermajority and the presidency, why didn't you do it then when nobody could have stopped you?

In fact, why didn't they do all the stuff they really wanted?

Just like guns and alcohol don't mix, neither do drugs and alcohol. In otherwords, don't use guns while under the influence.

But banning, no I don't believe so unless they have felony drug conviction for dealing.

Really. Why does anyone even want to own a gun? Trespassers? If you need to buy a gun because of the area you live in, I'd reconsider another location to live out of.

You never know when you'll need to defend yourself and/or loved ones.

    Also, shooting is quite fun.

As a law abiding citizen...and the fact that marijuana is against federal law...yes keep them from owning guns. Alcohol or drugs do not mix with firearms, period. If you want this too change, it has to be changed at the federal level. BATF is a federal institution, not state.
I grew up in Nebraska near the Colorado border, and petty crime has risen in Colorado and Western Nebraska because of the legalization of marijuana.

Support it? Trick question. For now it is law, but personally I feel MJ needs to be decriminalized. As of yet, it is not. Legal or illegal weed users are both still seen as " an unlawful user" in the eyes of the fed. Read "e"on the 4473. Chuck Schumer is trying to decriminalize it across the board. https://www.npr.org/2018/04/20/6041...-to-introduce-bill-to-decriminalize-marijuana

No I do not, but no one should use a fire arm while under mind altering substances. That is basic gun safety.

Alcohol, caffeine, and hundreds of other prescribed drugs are mind altering as well. Would you expand your opinion to ban guns for people who use them as well?

I also wonder what the justification is. Is there instances of people on MJ running around shooting people? If not, why would it be an issue. I would be willing to bet that their is a far greater chance of being shot by someone who is drunk or using meth.

Who said anything about banning? I am talking about personal responsibility. The government does not need to mandate commonsense about firearms, especially when we can train our children properly.

Sorry I was mixing your response with the OP. It asked if people on medical MJ should be banned from owning guns. My point is that there is no correlation between gun violence and medical MJ. When there is no problem why do you need a fix?
