I remember back in the day (mid to late 60s) High School basketball was the ticket. It was the most popular thing going in WV. Their team was the Pineville Pioneers. I remember being a little older, I walked out of my grandmothers house, went down to the river just outside her back yard, and shot a deer. My grandmother was the mayor and she called the cops to help me drag it up the embankment to her yard so I could clean it.

We used to go to a place called twin falls. While us kids were swimming in the pool using the high dive, the parents were playing golf. Funny what things you remember as a kid.

I didn't know that Texas didn't already have such an open-carry law in effect!

Here in Colorado we've had open-carry for at least three decades that I can remember -- but that could change at any time because Colorado is becoming an icky-sticky, 'Blue' state now, increasingly infested with radical Democrats.

What it is about the left, that make them want to flee their own shithole states, come to your state, and start voting for the same things all over again. They are really that dumb.

The job market for what I want to do, aren't great. Plus the wife would have a hard time finding a job there. She works for AZ AG's office and wants to transfer to the Texas AG's office

This new bill [if it passes] will allow open carry of handguns without a permit

Nothing could possibly go wrong with lots of Tejan's carrying handguns in public spaces with lots of other Tejan's around.

Here in Colorado the only thing you must have a permit for is concealed-carry, but no permits are needed for open-carry where the weapon is fully visible.

Beware of one thing in Texas (because I had personal experience)... In some counties ruled by liberal Democrats -- and with HUNGRY school districts, your property taxes can be eye-popping! I'm a native Texan, and I love the Lone Star State, but as Democrats moved in strongly, property taxes went up and up and up!

Stop the nonsense. If someone wants to shoot a bunch of people they aren't waiting for this law to pass.

It doesn't even really require 'belief', because logic says it can't be unintentional.

A child knows what happens when you spare the rod, so allegedly educated adults cannot possibly have done it unwittingly. For that to be true, it would mean those who institute/support these moves must be far FAR stupider than anyone could have imagined.

On the contrary, they DO like the results. After all, that's what they worked towards.

Either that or they're dumber than your family dog - who knows enough to know "don't sh!t where you eat".

I predict there will be a massive rise in violent crime in the US, there will then be a backlash and we will get back to normal. So buy yourself an AR15 and batten down the hatches in the meantime.

I don't live in one of those leftist controlled rioting shitholes so I say let them burn down their own cities and run off all of their police force. Doesn't change my life 10 cents worth.

Colorado used to be a red beautiful state with it's cities fairly clean with the exception of Denver Proper. Now there is trash everyone and homeless camps everywhere with a constant smell of weed throughout the city. I never thought I'd see the day where there were homeless people at dam near every intersection, panhandling. Liberal utopia's, yah know?

A New York woman expresses her hatred for cops, goes out and kills one, and just get hit with manslaughter.

That will make it difficult for the left to enforce California’s gun laws on the rest of the country.

You misunderstand the mindset of a parasite, once they've picked one host clean they'll move on to another.

So we were talking about rape.
Surely police don't "catch" rape crime.

My guess is there is more assualt, including rape due to covid?

So you don't think a higher chance of getting caught could prevent someone from raping someone? If so, I disagree.

Imagine if someone knew they wouldn't get caught. I'm pretty sure they'd be more willing to commit rape.

I think most rape is actually domestic rape. That's why it is often tied in with domestic assault statistics. In these situations it happens, then gets reported, not "caught". Perhaps if the victim could not find an available officer at a precinct, then that could be construed as a flow on effect of reduced police numbers. Other than that I'm not sure of the relevance of the police. It's the justice system that ultimately takes care of it.
