What if another country other than Ukraine (it won't be Ukraine) tries to stop the Russian advance on the capital?? Nuclear war is what happens.

Heads of state need to keep their heads in this matter. It seems they aren't. I'm greatly worried about the potential threat of nuclear war.

Side note: And it appears that both the government of Ukraine and the government of Russia are corrupt.

The sanctions on Russia aren't nearly as all-inclusive or tight as the ones on Iran. The Russians aren't completely cut-off from SWIFT as Iran is. Not all Russian banks are sanctioned. Oil and gas sales are specifically excluded from the sanctions and payment can be affected to Russia for such sales unlike Iran. In the case of Iran. you have strict extra-territorial sanctions in place. Despite all that, Iran has survived after a year or 2 where sanctioned plunged the value of its currency and hurt its most vulnerable classes.

Arabs, US, Canada, Norway, UK, South America etc... Russia isn't the only country selling oil.

Where's the pipeline from any of the alternative countries you mentioned to Germany? Where's the set up means of supplying and transporting oil from any of the alternative countries you mentioned to Germany?

Ukraine is not a client state.
In fact, it’s beating the crap out of the second largest military in the world. ;)

If Germans are cutting off Russia - they thought it through.

More likely, Germany is responding from pressure to divorce itself from Russia.

Germany relies on Russia for 55% of its gas. This means that 45% comes from other sources already.

It's a problem. But we all can see that the gas prices are spiking up in a crazy way. And that goes hand in hand with the troubles with Ukraine / boycotting Russia.
In the same way the ruble is spiraling down. 30% in 1 day.

And other countries have offered to pump up more oil/gas.

Good, I am happy that the funds of fat Russian oligarchs are frozen. Normal people do not keep money there.

You look at it from a perspective of some communists.
Every society needs rich people, because rich people give them the way into prosperity. Rich people need some safe place to store their money. Now Russian rich will resort to storing their investments in Russia, probably in rubles, which will erode the value of their savings and decreases the chances of these funds being used for something truly efficient.
Also rich people tend to have connections to the government and they tend to be able to influence the top leadership.
    Swiss made the right move.

55% of their gas, but gas is only 13% of their total energy needs, so Russian gas is only 7% of their total. They get 60% of their total energy needs from renewables, and they will be getting 80% by 2030,

I look from a perspective of a normal person. Rich people that are patriots invest their money in the economics, development, culture and science of their countries, and not to football teams, yachts or banks in the other countries. I assure you the babushkas who live in Russia will hardly notice that the funds of oligarchs have been frozen.

Ah sure. Mention oil and gas, and claim there is far more to it then just that... while it's not.
And the EU has a work around for Iran. The EU sells to Iran. It's on place 48, between New Zealand and Iceland.

Not as as all-inclusive or tight YET. You don't want to go all-in in one go, because then you run out of leverage. We still have more ammo to make life more uncomfortable for Russia and Putin. This is how sanctions are implemented.

Russia preparing to launch large-scale information operation against Ukraine, says Ukraine's defense minister
From CNN's Olya Voitoych in Kyiv

Russia is preparing to launch a “large-scale information and psychological operation” against Ukraine, Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said Tuesday.

“Its goal is to break the resistance of Ukrainians and the Ukrainian army with lies,” Reznikov said in a statement.

According to the defense minister, Russia has planned to create “communication problems” and to fabricate reports that Ukraine’s military and political leadership have “agreed to surrender” to the Russian Forces.

“As a ‘confirmation’ of this, fake — supposedly signed — documents as well as edited fake videos will be spread,” Reznikov said.

“This is a lie. This won’t happen. There will be no surrender! Only victory,” he added.

See my post above. Such claims are bound to be Russian disinformation. They're fiendishly good at that.

In fact, here you go: https://www.cnn.com/videos/world/20...o/playlists/russia-ukraine-military-conflict/

Description: CNN military analyst Lt. General Mark Hertling (Ret.) breaks down what could happen in the next 48 hours within the Russian and Ukraine

He's talking about Russian artillery hitting Kharkiv and the Russians basically conducting a terror and scorched earth campaign at this point.

The Kremlin says its forces are only attacking military targets in Ukraine, but in war seldom are such lines so distinct. Mothers with newborns hide in bomb shelters, while other civilians document destroyed their homes with mobile phone cameras; it is freezing and nothing makes sense. The war has turned civilian lives upside down and with the war almost reaching a full week, Ukrainians are wondering what it is all for. Al Jazeera's Stefanie Dekker reports.

Well fellowsHERE WE ARE - @ the edge of the Abyss .

    Mr Putin
has made the Catastrophic Error - that the American & European War Mongers
hoped that he would make. - It matters little, (excerpt to those unfortunate Russians and
Ukrainians who will DIE as a result,)
    - whether Russia conducts a Cake Walk in the next
couple of weeks, or whether Putin gets his Ass handed to him on a dish, it matters little.

The important consequences will be much the same. A ruined World Economy and
the resulting dislocation, Chaos and suffering that that will cause. Putin has placed
himself into a corner from which there is NO EXIT. -- It will be impossible to disengage
from the exceedingly Hostile Environment. His only option will be to 'Up the Ante'
to suppress growing internal insurrection and to react Violently to foreign Psychopaths
.................................................................................. doing all THEY can to inflame that situation.

    A
nd if YOU think for one moment that YOU can avoid some of the more negative aspects
the ensuing Chaos of a totally ruined World Economy by swallowing a bit of Inflation
and higher gas prices, Boy oH Boy ! are YOU ever in for an uncomfortable rough ride
........................................................................................... lesson as to the meaning of Karma.

The only question that might remain, . is just how Hell deep does the rabbit hole go ?
    W
hether Putin - made this decision to start a War as a result of a Nationalist belief
that Russia was under the ever increasing, intolerable threat of a NATO, first strike,
..............or whether he acted as the AGENT of the WEF to which HE, Xi Jinping and
............................... "Build Back Better Biden" are all members in good standing ?

That be the same "World Economic Forum" - the same "Plutocratic CULT" that
    seeks to initiate
THEIR vision of "The Great Reset" whereby THEY will own everything,
    and YOU will
become a commodity that is Surveilled and Controlled 24/7.

Now THEY can only achieve YOUR Commodification by the initiation of a single Global
"Central Bank Digital Currency" and a comprehensive Mandated eg MANDITORY
    "Digital ID."
    - for which all the Legal & Police apparatus are already in place.

All THEY need to achieve THEIR end is HATE, WAR & the unrelenting CHAOS,
of unbearable Suffering and THAT BALL IS NOW ROLLING and picking up speed.

That last little bit looked like a cluster bomb. I thought those were illegal to use in war?
Which brings up a question, how do we have rules in war? I mean, it's a war, bombs dropped, armed humans going at each other in the heat of war. Seems impossible to have "rules".
