I might add that most conservatives are for limited government, which leaves out most that is mentioned in the O/P left to the responsibility of government. We, conservatives, would rather give privately to charities and causes that "we" consider important rather than have the government choose for us.

 

Support for the God-given and Constitutional right to life is not at all like support for handouts, giveaways, and individual dependencies..... not within light years.

 

The only thing Republicans are "providing" is opportunity. The cause of pregnancy is well-documented and products to prevent it fill shelf after shelf at grocery and drug stores. And, YES, I know none of those is 100% effective - but nothing in life is.

 

I understand that the democrats did not support the bill because it did not go far enough. That is too bad. A little bit is better than nothing. Have the republicans done anything in the 19 years since then?

There is nothing to prove. If they did not want the child, they should not have had sex or should have taken precautions to prevent conception.

 

What people are REALLY worried about is the upcoming "crisis" concerning declining population. Their precious "capitalist" system will cease to function properly if there is decline instead of infinite growth. There is little concern for the welfare of children after birth because it is assumed they will be the bottom feeders of the capitalist system that everything relies on. It requires people to stay in constant hopeless debt, and those poor suckers in the adoption system are the greatest hope for the elites to keep the party going. They are just batteries in the capitalist matrix.

 

Which is, NO SEX, as outlined in the other thread with Repubs' efforts to also go after contraception.

 

A few republicans wanting no contraceptives is a long way from it actually happening. That is no excuse.

What you are advocating is called communism. Republicans believe in liberty. People should have the freedom to make their own life. Governments should stay the hell out of the way.

 

Folks should think of that beforehand.

 

They still don't take responsibility for the Hurricane Katrina response, the 2008 financial crisis or Iraq.

Are they? The way they've avoided even the mention of accountability for Jan 6 makes me wonder.

 

It's not really the Republicans that are arguing for the right of someone to decide whether or not a fetus is a person or not. The ability to deny it personhood is anti life anti-birth anti everything.

Why do people need to kill other people so badly if you're not capable of raising a child maybe you should take steps not to get pregnant you can do that.

I've never even come close accidentally having a kid. How am I able to do that never mind some sort of superior life form that I'm capable of thinking a few minutes ahead?
