I tend to agree with you. The types of gun laws people are proposing will not work because there are already millions of guns out there. Shooting are now part of the American culture. Good or bad it is a way of resolving differences. I can only see that increasing because the gun violence will lead more people feeling the need to carry guns for self defense which probably will lead to more shootings.

 

I guess you guys missed it when the left blamed the shootings on white supremacy even AFTER the identities of the shooters were known.

 

If I started a thread detailing every mass shooting in JUST Chicago...we'd have a thread a day and I'd be called a racist since the majority of those shootings would be from a certain demographic...

I totally welcome out of the box thinking. I hope the new generation figures out something because my generation has failed them. I use to participate in the gun shooting discussions years ago. I remember many discussions with people on this forum. To be honest I have now resigned myself into believing nothing can realistically be done. Neither side is truly out to fix the problem because I do not even think we can get everyone to agree it is a problem. The types of gun control law proposed will not work. The democrats use it as a political issue to get votes but really have nothing. The right uses it to crank up the fear meter, also for votes, but no one has had their guns taken away. All that ever does is lead to higher gun sales. In all of Obama's 8 years he accomplished nothing with gun control but he led to a lot of guns sold. Mass shooting have become a political partisan issue. Look on this forum. Right after a mass shooting everyone holds their breath to see the color of the shooter. Is he an immigrant? Are they gay? Do they wear a MAGA hat? Are they a white supremacist? No one cares about the shooting anymore only the political points that can be scored from the shooting. This is the new America.

Anyone with a brain knows BOTH PARTIES have created this mess. The bottom-line, our incessive desire to spread capitalism to the world has created a reliance on countries like China. Make no mistake about it, what made this country the greatest on earth, and in history is our abundance of resources.
