Mandate gun responsibility. All firearms must be secured unless in active use I.e, gun range

All the shooter has to do is unlock them first....not seeing how this is a solution.

I believe there is. It's not the guns killing people it's people. We have to find out how we're failing society and fix that. Forcing people to put stupid **** on their guns or not letting them put stuff that works on their guns isn't making anyone safer; it's just pissing off the people that are needed to find the solution.

Example; IF (and I'm not even thinking of it) but "observing", the better choice of weapon for a mass shooter is one where you can stand off and do you worst. Not one that works better up close.
The better choice for home defense where you're likely to be in a CQB situation (close quarters battle) is one that works best in tight, confined situation. What have we done, NOTHING about long range weapons but it's a felony if you don't jump through ATF hoops to posses a close quarters weapon. I'm not promoting attacking any weapons, but that's just an illustration of how "we're" getting it wrong when we do.

People that don't know **** about guns are making the rules that govern guns and people that don't know **** about people are keeping us from making rules about people. And we sit and wonder why haven't come up with a solution; while we continue to do the things that aren't working.

Personally I think the problem has become too far out of control, not sure we can stop gun violence with out a nationwide confiscation. Not saying that's what I support, but I do think that many freedoms do come with their own consequences.

Maybe not but requiring gun owners to demonstrate basic skills and knowledge of the basics of gun safety, BEFORE, they can buy a firearm, might actually help. But the gun lobby is AbsaByGodLutely against it; yet they keep harping about cars killing people, but have no opposition to licensing and insuring drivers.

That would cause more violence than it could ever stop; exponentially. It would destroy our nation.

The problem is we have failed people, not guns. We have to figure out how we've failed them, and then fix that. Not piss off good law abiding citizens by attacking the Constitution that we all benefit from.

But we aren't really concerned about people not knowing how to handle their firearms, we are concerned with people taking those firearms to public locations and shooting people. I'm not sure how someone demonstrating they can handle a fire arm is helpful in anyway.

No, you've made a career attacking "useful idiots" but have never attempted to define who they are. Your claim that they are legion throughout the land isn't supportable. IF so many people were idiots how would we BE the GREAT nation that we ARE?

IMHO, if people were better trained in the use of firearms and the consequences of their misuse it could only help.

Get rid of Democratic hellholes and murders will drop 90%. The sad fact of the matter is that the overwhelming majority of all murders happen in Democrat controlled cities and towns. Look at the 69 most deadly cities in America..... Democrats all the way down. This may be why Democrats are anti-gun, their communities are incapable of living safely with guns. It must suck for them, but they get what they vote for. If your leaders decide to release murderous felons out to murder innocent civilians, that is on you for voting for those leaders.

we already know what the mean IQ for a variety of people is, and it’s not a good look. We can all agree the average person is pretty dumb. We’re the great nation we are because some really smart people got their **** together and good things happened, while the dumber ones either helped out or were consumers.

80% of Americans live in those "hellholes", so it makes sense most crime happens there. Unfortunately, but getting rid of the hellholes, and the Americans living in them, you also get rid of 85% of US economic output.

The obvious question is this: Why aren't Republicans running cities? They are always crying and whining on the sidelines (like you are doing now), but they never roll up their sleeves and fix anything. Why is that? Do you ever wonder about it?

I am not arguing with that, but we got great by smart people creating a society that benefited ALL people. We stayed great by the smart people investing in the nation and befitting from that investment. Not by having them horde their wealth off shore and employing slave labor in a foreign land.

Those "Democratic Hell Holes" were once wonders of the manufacturing world ... until Reagan passed laws that made it lucrative to ship our jobs and capitol overseas.

Worked here and there is a lot of research supporting this

suicide is where it is most successful as the vast majority of gun suicides are spur of the moment and if they have to wait even those few seconds it gives time to reconsider. Mass shootings also appear to reduce and then of course there is the child shootings - they are massively reduced. There is also a reduction in gun theft which does reduce access by criminals and can even reduce gang violence as research has shown that kids with access to guns are more likely to be recruited into gangs

Unfortunately not an unusual pattern on this board especially when it comes to gun control - this is one reason why Chicago is mentioned so frequently

IMHO, we have people committing suicide by murder. Why? We have failed that part of society. We need to study how to fix it. And then fix it.

Guns are working fine, it's society that is broken. We need to invest in Americans and America ... AGAIN.

that’s called race baiting. What we see in Chicago is a reflection of the bigger problem of blacks committing murder at a very high rate, mostly on each other. Stats are not racist, pretending they don’t exist is not taking the problem seriously.

it’s a fun reminder that those gun grabbers don’t care about stopping violence, it’s just about control.
