Well I hope it wasn't a commercial airliner or private aircraft.

Depends on the material the balloon was made of and this object. Metal objects reflect radar waves much better than other materials which is why things like aircrafts are easier to track.

Probably, but do YOU wanna be the pilot "swallowing" an unknown object?

    Be our guest...

Military equipment is protected against EMP and is it a short-lived emission. And anything in Kansas is not going to stop an invasion of South Korea, Taiwan or Vietnam

As for shooting this one down, I don't know why it was necessary. The risk to a plane is tiny. There are thousands of objects including weather balloons of that size in the sky at that altitude and many many more below that altitude. Some birds are not much smaller in flight.

Of course he does. That's why he lied like a rug about those "Chinese spy balloons" during Trump's presidency.

Raising the nose in flight just might complicate things for the pilot's operational flying acumen. !!!!

That news came from the Pentagon, not Uncle Joey....

But thank goodness T**** didn't know about those incursions.... Heavens knows what solution that Magic 8 ball would have come up with....

You're wrong. The "spy balloons under Trump" was originally put out by Biden, not the Pentagon. It wasn't til the next day that the Pentagon went along with the story.

The Trump-era balloons weren’t “detected” (as “spy-balloons”) but tracked…they didn’t know what they were. The one that transversed the country was identified as a spy-balloon and the data from the Trump era was re-defined with the new information, (it looks like this on radar when it’s a “spy balloon”!), so yes, it happened before but we didn’t clock them, now we know “what to look for”.
    And somehow this is “bad”.

Biden didn't say they "weren't detected as spy balloons". He said they were "undiscovered".

Just admit it. He lied his stupid ass off.

If you were going to fight a war with China would you want to fight it now, or 5-10 years from now? This is being discussed.

Here we go again. Are these things coming China or the Norks?

NORAD confirms 'high-altitude airborne object' flying over northern Canada

The unidentified object over Canada comes the day after the United States shot down an unknown object in Alaska

The Biden administration said Saturday that it is actively monitoring an airborne object over Canada the day after the military announced an "object" had been shot down off the coast of northern Alaska.

NORAD confirmed in a statement to Fox News Digital it has identified a "high-altitude airborne object" over Northern Canada.

It’s not so simple. An EMP blast would fry electrical circuits Coast to coast and it would take years to rebuild it all. We would have little to no wherewithal to support existing forces not affected. Trump was fighting to harden our electrical grid from this kind of attack or a major solar flare but most Democrats opposed it for no other reason than Trump proposed it. I’m not sure how much he got done over their objections.

Norks and China are pretty close to the same thing. I bet if you looked an the NORKS rocketry it's clearly tech they got from China, which Bill Clinton gave to them.

OF COURSE THEY DID, HE WORKS FOR THEM: In 2020, China Privately Told Biden Ally They Wanted Joe To Win.

It is a UFO until the Pentagon tells the public what it is because they do know.

That wasn't the intention of the sarcasm of my post. Try UFO, Roswell, and all the conspiracy theories surrounding Roswell.

I'm thinking this too. They should've already got enough info from the one shot down yesterday in Alaska to know at least where's it's from, yet they've said nothing so far.

And no pictures of it before it shot down. They are both being described as cylindrical but not balloons.
