If you look at the sequence of events, the tape of the guys was done while on the campaign trail. yes, it was a "gotcha question" by a reporter named Bush, who was eventually fired because one of the voices I do believe on the tape was his. That being said, any reasonable person would have said "shut that off" type of thing. Trump didn't do. He quite literally walked right into it and even bragged it happens to him, among other things.

 

Try it in a predominantly Republican district and see if you get the same outcome. I know none of the Republicans I know would have found him liable. We would see it for what it is; a woman trying to cash in on Trump now that the sharks are circling for blood. The waters are inviting for a feeding frenzy.

The article notes that was until three years later when George Conway recommended a lawyer to her that could bring a defamation suit against Trump because he denied her now allegation he did rape her. WOW a man gets accused of something he didn't do so he denies it and it is defamation. And remember the jury just said he didn't rape her.

If he didn't rape her then where is the defamation in his denying it?

And did she prove it ever happened, did she present evidence of the day? The article notes in Carroll's story.

By the way since they jury said there was no rape can Trump sue her for defamation for claiming in her book there was, that is quite a malicious claim that was intended to harm him. Don't you think she should have to pay up too?
