Obviously reading comprehension is not high on your list. RPGs are social games. You get together and play them with other people, not in front of a TV screen. And they are doing 10X the business of the video games that you sit in front of a screen to play. Board games are also social games. While they do exist, there are very few comparatively that are single player or have single player rules variations. They are 5X larger that video games. The number of strategy games out there, where you have to think and plan ahead are amazing. It's not limited to Go and Chess anymore. Shobū and Terrace are excellent example. Not to mention all the resources management games out there. Games like Pitch Storm and Before They Were Stars are excellent games for developing the imagination, and others like Sparkle Kitty helps kids to learn to read while having fun. Board games and RPGs are far from wasting away in front of a screen.
