Do you support reparations for blacks?

Another simple question would be,,,,,,who deserves it and who should pay? I don't know any American blacks currently that have experienced slavery and neither do I know any others who have ever owned slaves.(that would include the blacks and Indians who owned slaves when slavery was an institution in some states). How many citizens whose ancestors came to America after slavery was outlawed should be penalized as well? This is just a Marxist attempt to redistribute wealth.

 

Johnson's War on Poverty sure kept them in their "place". Reparations is just another attempt at that......telling blacks still on the government plantation they are no better than that. The alternative would be to point out successful blacks that jumped that plantation and live successfully fulfilled lives!

How the hell should one evaluate the horrors of history? If a concentration camp worker at Dachau, a Roman slave in the mines or the Galleys, an African slave which is castrated with a dull knife after a walk through the Sahara, a slave in the cotton fields in North America or on plantations in South America, slaves at the hand of the Chinese or the Persians or slaves in the pure African kingdom of Congo? Evaluating this is like a blind man talking about colour.

Most of them worked themselves to death under terrible circumstances, thus dying a slow and painful death, which will have been pretty similar.

By the way slavery still exists today in some parts of the world, not as widespread as it once was, but you could argue if "was" is the right term.

Yep, like I originally thought, you agree with me. But for some reason, you want to argue.

Reparations for white men would be a tax refund going back to LBJ's war on poverty.......it didn't work. It built ghettos of fatherless children, instead. For me it would be the loss of my Great grandfathers arm. He was a farmer and lost it at Resaca Georgia fighting for the Union which freed the slaves eventually. I might be a tad richer had he had the use of that arm! I'm not complaining though. Life has difficulties for everyone in one form or the other.

 

You know what right-wingers are grumpy about is all those Blacks using the social safety net and using slavery references to refer to it, but what they conveniently forget and never comment on is the fact, that it has always been the case, more white people are getting government subsidies than Blacks. They seem to not mind yanking the net for Blacks and letting their children go hungry, without medical care and homeless. Not racist at all.

I don't defend anybody's practice of slavery, Esau! Not that of "white europeans", warring Black tribes in Africa, or anybody else. All slavery is barbaric, including slavery that is practiced in Africa to this day. But if there's millions of dollars in this country to be extorted from innocent Americans who never owned a slave, then it appears that today's militant woke radicals are going to focus on grabbing the low-hanging fruit. Surely you don't support that!

 

I support reparations for the descendants of those held in RBCS. The payment shall be maid by government. It is governments decision on how to collect this money. My advice would be to target the large corporations that benefitted directly that are still around today in one guise or another, or any corporation today that bought up a business that profited from RBCS.

 

Slavery was a terrible mistake for which the nation paid dearly.

 

I asked you before to tell us all what a "RBCS" is and you have refused to do so. I told you in an earlier post that when I googled RBCS, it brought up tons of information about red blood cells, but nothing about slavery or reparations. After that you said I lacked familiarity with the topic, but I do understand clearly now that it's really nothing but a conspiracy to defraud the non-white population over slavery that none of us is guilty of. This whole thing is just an attempt at a big money grab, and the ironic thing is that even if we shelled out millions of dollars to American Negroes just because they are Negroes, they'd just be coming back later and demanding even more. Now, I'm done with this topic. Believe what you want to believe, whatever that may be.

I am a right wing deplorable, homophobe, transphobe and any other label you would care to put on me......but you are entirely wrong that I would single out a race to deprive them of a "safety net". Blacks, browns, yellows, and whites are far better as individuals than you give them credit for. They don't need government to be their "nanny". Then as prosperous individuals, they can select and help others in need as they see fit. Would you give individuals of all races that much credit?
