    Correction: ACLU is outraged at capital punishment in general and has been for quite some time. To the ACLU it doesn't matter who the person is or what the crime is.

    And for those who are slow and assume I'm against the death penalty, you'd, yet again, be wrong. I'm all for it in cases where there is incontrovertible evidence.

    that is a homicide, not a state-mandated execution, which is what the 8th amendment applies.

    Every person who is executed by the states has the following on their death certificate: homicide by order of the state.

    The suffering was from within and is not the states responsibility. One would think that living with the guilt from harming others would be far worse.

    Good points.

    If only we could extend that logic of the state not having rights individuals do not have to properly rights etc. as well as capital punishment.
