We live in hope that those who support him currently will come to see why we not only do not but cannot
No it's not the tweet. The video is a AI voiceover parody based on Paul Harvey's "God made a farmer" monologue.
This isn't exactly what I would call a Christian Apologetics forum, but from a theological standpoint it is correct in that all leaders - and in a larger subtext, all of us - were made in God's image and for His purposes - and yeah, that includes Trump. You also had both Peter telling believers to obey the government "for the Lord's sake" and at the time Peter wrote that I think Nero was running Rome - 'nuff said about that. And then Paul in Romans 13 wrote "All of you must obey the government rulers. Everyone who rules was given the power to rule by God. And all those who rule now were given that power by God. So anyone who is against the government is really against something God has commanded. Those who are against the government bring punishment on themselves." And again, I think Nero was ruling the place around that time. And then you have Nebuchadrezzar who had a huge golden statue of him paraded around Babylon and was about as far as you could get from someone who feared God and yet was still used BY God for His purposes. Nevertheless, I'm 99% sure Trump is sharing this video with a far different mindset than the one he SHOULD be having regarding God which would include the belief that while yeah, you were/will be placed where you are because God wants you there while not forgetting you should also be doing what God would have you do rather than whatever the heck pops into your head *shrugs* I'm also fairly sure that the Lord would want Trump to operate with a sense of humility, honesty, justice, and kindness. Humility alone - basically seeing someone and focusing on them and not yourself, well ... *shrugs again* I'll be kind and say I don't think this tweet or post or whatever is exactly what God would want from a servant, and I'm pretty confident in saying that Jesus was not a big believer in his followers being big on self-aggrandizement. The disciples argued which one of them would be the greatest and Jesus handled that one quickly enough. From a more temporal standpoint I think a psychologist would have a field day with Trump. Also, I would be remiss if I didn't point out all the times Obama was regarded as some kinda Messiah himself as you can read about HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, and HERE... among others.
When he says he's MAGA retribution, is he making jokes? Trump's humor stage is long past. Apart from the people who still want to normalize Trump's narcissistic persona, everyone else in the non-MAGA world has figured out that he really believes he's the messiah.
A lot of folk in the biz warned that AI was reaching a level that it would quickly control the mind of the weak. Looks like it's found it's target viewers..
And? That is the video, "Paul Harvey" That is the video that Trump re-truthed on his "Truth Social". If he tweeted/x it it's the same pathetic video, I gave you the link and in that link is the link to Trump's re-truth of it. Here. I'll make it simple for you
You may want to do some recollection, some people went overboard with the "Messiah" thing, but the Democratic party did not call him a "Messiah" and most importantly, neither did Obama. Juxtapose that with Trump's persona, and I see a big effing difference.
Sad. Trump is literally the poster boy for the Seven Deadly Sins ... Christians have sold their souls to the antithesis of the teachings of Christ.
There is no difference. The democrat party equally called him a mesiah. But it's OK when dems do it in the eyes of another dem. We know.
Your thread is in a different sub forum. IMO threads should not be merged from one part of the forum to another.
Griping? If you say so. It's because he continues to suck up all of the oxygen, politically speaking. He has told us how he intends to conduct his presidency if he wins. Freedom-loving Americans don't want a vile, disgusting carnival barker to become their dictator. We'd rather have the other old white guy, because at least he doesn't spend all of his time playing on our fears, telling us who and what to hate, who to blame for it, and assuring us that he's going to fix it. He is a clear and present danger not only to our democratic processes and institutions, but to our very lives. Trump would love nothing more that to have us start shooting and killing each other. Martial law, anyone?
WRONG! The idea that God put your ruler in charge and you have to serve him is a midevil royalty and church tactic to control people. We only Serve God and by God's command we follow the law unless Gods law says different or it goes against our conscience. Also, The president neither makes the law nor gets to determine what the law says. The ultimate law of the land is the constitution. So we serve the constitution after we serve God, then we serve the laws written by tmour representatives. But we do not serve the dictates of the president. God allowed sinful men to put in place sinful people but God did not put them there. He allowed it. The president was no more put there then the porn was put on the internet by God. What is given by God is his word, your ability to reason, and your conscience. These things are what you must obey obove the laws and dictates of men
Trump does not oppose abortion. Given his history, it would not be surprising if he's paid for a few over the years.
We hired him for a job and in that position he opposed infanticide. That's sufficient for me to support his role in that job.
So, despite the Constitution specifically addressing religious freedom of expression you think religious people should just keep quiet about their political opinions. Got it.
