"Whine?" Seems like you MAGA types are the bellyachers.
So much for states' rights? Why do you think state taxpayers are obliged are obliged to spend their tax dollars enforcing federal law?
That's what we do on this forum.
Oh, geez--a MAGA martyr? Pointing out your views may have shortcomings isn't telling you not to express them.

He won with 80% of the vote. He is simply giving them what they voted for.

I think we would have to pass enabling legislation and then weather inevitable court challenges. States' rights are part of our Constitution.

Funding isn't a part of the constitution. The funding was a privilege provided by Congress if the states enacted the federal policies, laws, and met the expectations tied to the funds.

Maybe the link would just be "National News". Maybe you watch news that ignores the topic.

Then the voters get exactly what they deserve.

I just wish they would stop moving to Florida when they get sick of getting what they deserve. Or at least see the connection between the events and stop voting that way and learn to drive

Florida aught to declare ourself a New York free, sanctuary state.

In the interest of public decency they ought to be prohibited from removing here.

This would simultaneously remove a lot of people from the road this time of year who do not know how to drive here.... And prevent any idiotic politicians from ever enacting the same policies here

Texas and Florida whine and send illegals to other states.

This is a federal problem and has been since I was growing up in California and they were talking about braceros. Nobody has done spit about catching employers hiring illegals. Eisenhower tried some deporting but that petered out. [/QUOTE]
Why should the taxpayers of Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California carry our country's water?
The LBJ-Nixon line was that commies would overrun Asia if we lost in Vietnam. Well, we lost and Asia wasn't overrun.

I don't know if you support states' rights on some level, but states shouldn't be expected to enforce federal law. Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and California can't be expected to counter the migrant firehose.

Spending federal money in states has been going on since September 17, 1787.

I doubt these will be the last crimes by illegals that we hear about.

Cop-beating migrants who fled to California may have bought cars and pools with stolen phones: NYPD sources

Authorities now say six of the migrants accused of jumping a pair of police officers in Times Square took off for California — and the group involved in the assault is being eyed in a larger conspiracy in which the immigrants use Apple Pay on stolen phones to buy cars and pools, police sources said.

In addition, immigration warrants have now been issued for several of those who fled, a senior law enforcement source said.

The violent group is part of a larger conspiracy involving other new arrivals in the city.

The migrants first steal phones from victims and then use Apple Pay and credit cards to make large purchases back in their home countries, the sources said.

“They’re buying cars back in Ecuador and Venezuela,” the police source said. “They’re putting pools in their homes there. All this money is going back and forth. That’s why the larcenies are going out of control. It’s unbelievable what they’re doing.”

I don't know if you think the federal government should be completely without any sort of expectation of cooperation from the states.... But states rights don't mean that states should ignore Federal immigration laws and don't make it least a good faith effort to cooperate with them on some level.

If I was a state Governor I would invoke states rights and start deporting them out of my state immediately. I bet you wouldn't agree with that form of a state expressing its rights.

So the righties here have their panties in a twist because 6 immigrants took some cheap shots at 2 NYPD cops and may have engaged in some electronic rip off scheme ?

But they’re ok with Tejasians hiring 3rd world welders to work in their oil industry at less than minimum wage and uninsured.

They’re ok with prosecuting women and doctors for seeking and providing medical care for toxic pregnancies.

They’re ok with bypassing due process when it gets applied to their Orange Stain.

Sorry but they are just full of steaming, putrid hypocrisy.

    This sounds about right:

Add to that they shouldn't be there in the first place and I would deport them a significant distance.

States and cities are simply choosing not to spend state taxes enforcing federal law. I'm not saying I agree with what they're doing, but I think they have a right to do it. They aren't violating federal law.
This would be a violation of their constitutional rights.

    Don't forget the Supremacy Clause:

"This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, any Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the Contrary notwithstanding."

So you're okay with no consequences for beating up an officer?

What do you think would happen to your or me if we did the same?

    Answer please rather than deflecting.

I can say this: If me and a truckload of my buddies went up to Times Square and shoplifted a bunch of handbags, assaulted the shopkeeper, and beat the crap out of the cops that tried to stop us, we'd all be rotting in Riker's right now. We need to explore the differences in this hypothetical, and what happened to the illegal aliens who actually did it.
