    Good.

Now, you forgot to answer the second part of my message.

    Let's start again.

In this trial (one of four) Trump is accused of defrauding the US and illegally delaying the transition of power.

How are these actions part of presidential duties?

Well for several reasons. Those are absurd interpretations of what he was doing. He was making sure that there WAS a peaceful transition of power in case he won in court. He was following the ECA.

    Sure.

It's part of the job of a POTUS (and his accomplices) to create false slate of electors so that the VP can count them instead of the real ones, so that he can retain power.

These are normal things for a President to do.

I'll take your word for it.

Except Trump has lost 59 times in court and when he 'released the Kraken' to SCOTUS, it wouldn't even hear his case.

So, despite your politically biased interpretations of the facts, Trump doesn't have immunity and he'll have to get his huge butt in front of Judge Chutkan to stand trial.

You don't even know what you're arguing. You don't even know what the appeal court ruled. They didn't rule his actions fall outside of the presidential duties. They ruled that presidential immunity does not extend to criminal cases.

That cannot be allowed to stand. Whether you like it or not.

It will accomplish nothing except make the democratic base happy. Just like the last two Trump impeachments. If he wins of course.

I hope SCOTUS take the case and say Trump has “total immunity” , I mean “ total immunity” from any criminal activity. Current and former POTUS can’t be criminally charged.

    Wait ..

    Wait

This also apply to Joe Biden as POTUS…. Aha . Joe Biden can arrest trump, few of the GOP member of the house and send them to Guantanamo bay for “questioning” about “national security” until 2025!

    I LOVE IT!

I'm not sure how many times I have to say this. No one is arguing for total immunity.

That has me thinking of 2024. Many Trump supporters and voters weren’t telling the posters they were voting for Trump in both 2016 and 2020. 42% of respondents said they’d vote for Trump, he ended up with 46%. 44% said they’re would vote for Trump in 2020, he received 47%. Seems Trump’s polling average is below the number of votes he actually received. If this holds true this election, considering Trump is averaging 45%, he may be closer to 48 or 49%. There seems to be a certain percentage of Trump voters who won’t admit that they’re Trump voters.

I'm sure there are tons of them. And if they think they have a case they should be putting it together and bring it on!

Supremacy Clause of the Constitution would help you delineate the application of Federal and State law.

That would only address part of the problem. For instance what's to stop a state from asserting, as Chief Justice John Roberts pointed out, that not securing the border amounts to insurrection, passing a law declaring it's a charge of 20 years to life and charging the president with it after he leaves office?

No but he can enact policy which makes it more difficult. IE his policy on ghost guns.

States can’t make something lawfully allowed by the constitution, a state crime. Not how it works. Otherwise Texas could have banned abortion before roe was overturned.

We could see a lot of lawsuits against former Presidents brought by rogue DAs funded by partisan groups. Carter, Bush, Clinton, and Obama are undoubtedly following this closely, perhaps nervously.

How many did we see before? Nobody thought presidents had total immunity. Why do you think Nixon got a pardon?

How many Hollywood execs did we see sued for sex harassment before #metoo? Chipping away the Presidential immunity will invite future challenges. Its a precedent and people will take advantage of it.

By asking then to find him a specific number of votes so he can win? Who are you trying to kid? His duty is to act lawfully at all times.

There was never blanket immunity. Nixon and Clinton knew it. Even trumps lawyers said he didn’t have it when he was being impeached lol
