I don't understand why promiscuity bothers you so much. If they're taking the necessary precautions, then what's the problem?
And a man? What? When it is a man he is a hero, he is great. He is the best!!! So the men can be promiscuos but women no. Women if they have more relations are sluts and other crappy words. Then sorry but not. You don't respect other people. And do you call men sluts, or something like that when they do that?
I am a male slut: I imagine doing nasty things to all the hot women I see. Of course, I don't actually physically do it: I don't want to get girls pregnant or catch a disease.
I don't think it's appropriate to use those words, but of course I think those words are sexist. They are words for women. There isn't equivalent words of shame for men. Men aren't shamed in our culture in the same way as women for sleeping around. Of course usually, in the history of western culture, men who slept around were usually killed off by the jealous boyfriends or husbands of the woman. So, when you're just going to kill them off using shame to control men's behavior was of less importants.
I have a pretty simple solution, it's called minding my own business. If you are concerned about somebody else's sex life, you need to get laid more.
I think it's worse. As a professional in a small business environment a businesswoman being called a slut or whore would be extremely insulted and her reputation possibly harmed if the accuser has influence. For a man, on the other hand, being called a bastard or a dick or a jerk might mean he's hard to work with, but it's not really disrespect and may enhance his reputation among some.
I don't see a problem with it. If a woman is going to screw around and spread her legs for anyone, then she should expect to called names.
I don't worry about being politically correct. If the term seems appropriate for the setting, I use it. Regardless of what it is.
when I hear a woman called a slut or a whore I'm more likely to believe it's gratuitous name calling and not a reflection of the target as much as the accuser. The words slut and whore have been devalued over the years much the same as the dollar. In fact having loose morals has benefitted some women. Everyone scrambled around to get the Paris Hilton sex tape.Didn't exactly kill her "career"
I worked with a man who would lie, cheat, steal, and do whatever was necessary to get laid. He was quite successful and other guys laughed about it. But, no one trusted him. He eventually got fired for behaving professional as he behaved socially. A friend of mine said, "I wish I could do what John does." "No, you don't. If you did, you'd do what John does." Now, to the other gender. Who respects a woman who sleeps her way up the organization. A woman where I worked was screwing an assistant to the CEO and it helped her career. But, people still laughed at her. People didn't respect her. In many ways, I feel sincerely sorry for Monica Lewinski. She was doing what she was raised to do and it just didn't work out.
Heard a funny joke that seems fitting: "You know, when a woman has sex with a lot of different partners she is a slut. When a man does the same, he is a stud. People say that's unfair for women. I disagree. To be a stud you must be good looking, charming, have a nice car, and a fake job. To be a slut you just have to be there. Right?"
Language like that may usually be formed in a heated moment. I'm sure there are those who will use it in the manner you describe... but I don't think there is anything particularly "sexist" about it... women can use it when talking about other women. I don't think the sex matters of the person when referring to them in such ways (there are terms for male/female/both etc).
It's only fair to apply your sentiment to males as well: I don't see a problem with it. If a man is going to screw around and unzip his fly for anyone, then he should expect to be called names.
The many many threads about Hillary Clinton, D. Wasserman-Shulz and others seem to suggest otherwise, or at least that they are right on par.
LOL, why? A woman who is promiscuous is technically a slut. I have heard this term applies to men before as well, so I dont see how it is sexist. The woman is a whore only if she is charging for it. She's a slut if she's not. A skank is just an especially bad slut. I dont think any of these terms are sexist. (Cant post the picture because it has naughty words)
only in the affluent west.....woman still act like ladies in the third world countries once woman make their own money they no longer need a man and so act like spoiled bratts!
I've always been a "liberal". The leftists in this country have become so extreme and reactionary that they label anyone who doesn't buy into their progressive/socialist ideology as the very incarnation of rightist evil. In other words, they've become unhinged and power-crazy.
