If you believe anything that I don't...than you are stupid. If you believe anything that I don't....I will make sure you are not allowed to represent it.

How dare you make me see a cross....how dare you make me see a sign that reads "Merry Christmas"...how dare you say "Merry Christmas or God bless you"....how dare you make me see and listen to that.

Only my beliefs and views should matter.

You are just dumb, ignorant people if you don't believe what I believe.

WELL? DID I GET IT RIGHT?

Nice life you live...sad, very sad.

America has always been a primarily Christian nation, it was founded upon Judea Christian philosophy. What difference does it make what citizens believe regarding dinosaurs and humans, of course something that science can't definitively prove.

Does modern technology scare you because you believe that there's another side of the story where it works on evil magics instead of known scientific principles?

Quiet childish IMO, America is known to have varying beliefs from state to state, heck from city to city. It is a right to own your own thoughts, and wear them as you please. Atheists who supposedly have no belief I guess have decided they now have beliefs. LOL It is childish from those who call themselves progressives to forgo independent thought for collective thought

Please show where science is KNOWN. Very little is actually known scientifically, science works on theories based upon their knowledge and skills which in most cases are still unknown. It is very hard to figure out a bee flies isn't supposed to fly scientifically.

This controversy began in the 1870s.. Inerrancy and the Bible as science/ history versus modernity.

The Bible is full of epic accounts where God goes against his own laws of nature.

And, when people feel insecure they always go backwards into old, superstitious beliefs....

I would NOT teach my children that Jonah was swallowed by a whale... I would teach them that the story was about disobedience and xenophobia.. and Jonah's fury that God didn't kill the people of Ninevah even after they repented.

Sorry, that's a bull(*)(*)(*)(*) old wives tale.

A SCIENTIFIC THEORY is based upon facts, laws and hypothesises, is testable and falsifiable, has no evidence that can't be worked into the theory (has never been demonstrated to be false) and due to the overwhelming amount of evidence in support is considered the best hypothesis (all theories are hypothesis but not all hypothesises are theories) available. It is however not considered proven as proof is considered impossible in science. Science is based upon probability not absolute certainty.

And yet your computer you are typing your bull(*)(*)(*)(*) on works, as does the internet, your TV, medicine you have taken, etc. You live in a world where theories provide almost everything for you.

    Now here's an oddity.

From ratemyprofessor, one of the comments about Prindle, who "devised" the poll:

"funny guy. almost exactly like the comedian Lewis Black. tests can be pretty tough. gives you a list of exactly what is on the test so you know in advance exactly what to study. never takes attendance but lectures are very important. he managed not to make a government class boring."

And from OP last line link, citing a statement from Prindle:

Prindle says the results recall a line from comedian Lewis Black. "He did a standup routine a few years back in which he said that a significant proportion of the American people think that the 'The Flintstones' is a documentary," Prindle says. "Turns out he was right. Thirty percent of Texans agree that humans and dinosaurs lived on the earth at the same time."

This poll sounds legit, and not a bit bias and staged for certain results <cough cough>. LOL.

Makedde, if you are still reading this thread, here is your answer.
What difference does it make? Reality and science gave the US the innovation that sent us to the moon, built intercontinental RR, and developed an international communications system; not the Bible. The innovators did not stick their head into the sand and claim "science can't definitively prove" anything. Let us see how many who believe that humans and dinosaurs co-existed will be the next innovators. I doubt that Jobs, Gates, Edison, Ford, Watt, Einstein, Feynman, Bell, Whitney, the Wright Brothers, et al believed that humans and dinosaurs co-existed because they understood and used the scientific method to build their inventions.

Shows your ignorance of science. Science cannot be used to prove anything.

Actually, that was based on insufficient knowledge. We now have a pretty good idea on how bees fly.

Regardless, there is no good evidence that shows that people and dinosaurs coexisted. Please show me evidence if you have some. (cave paintings don't count).

Science also gave us the polio and smallpox vaccines .... refrigeration, the combustion engine, Satellites, the Internet, anesthesia , open heart surgery.. etc, etc yet she wants to believe that the symbolic time out means Jonah actually sat in the belly of a whale for three days.

    Maybe Texas really is different.

Maybe, this is a reasonable explanation to the OP and that new Texas state school curriculum with the dinosaurs+humans.

    Romans 8:20-22
20 For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope 21 that[a] the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God.
22 We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.

So the whole evolution thing (whilst a simple and true fact in my humble opinion), is simply a time-elongated sequence of coincidental events.

By obtaining a physical existance, the world got subjected to the dilation called "time". Evolution is a result of this. The world doesn't want evolution, it wants everything coincidental, and it wants all possible outcomes of every event present coincidentally with the causing event.

The link in the OP does not explain this, but likely this is what it is about.

The Bible also describes an abortion sanctioned by God. Shall we make a list?

I guess there is some hope fore texes. Part of it said 38% believe there was evolution over time with a guiding hand from god. Hey thats still evolution, if you want to believe god had a little lean on how people evolved more power to you as long as you don't go denying things which have more or less been proven

Yes, some will say that this is dubious, however, if a woman has slept with a man other than her husband and gets pregnant and then undertakes this "Grain of Jealousy" ritual - her belly swells and her thigh rots - what happens to the pregnancy?

Would you teach them that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, God in the flesh. And that God the Father raised Him from the dead after three days in the grave?

Show me prove that states otherwise and I will change my mind.

I have very little interest in what an obviously biased website like Creation.org has to say on the issue.

A nice paper in Science or Nature would be wonderful.

Can you cite a paper in a scientific journal that states dinosaurs survived for 65,000,000 years longer than thought?

Who anything about the cross, Christmas, or god bless you?

Can you show any proof that men were running around with T-Rex? Seems unlikely.
