ok first, no it dosn't belong to Cananda. Oil is used by the whole world. 2nd. There would be a crap load of full time jobs too. Some directly related to the construction, the montering and the mantiance of the line. Spillage, that goes to everything. We don't get lot of Middle East oil. Europe and Asia do. Because they are right there. They are not half way around the world. Do we get oil from the Middle East? Yes we do. But probably about 15-20% of our oil is from the Middle East. Most of our oil comes from Mexico, Venezuela, and the Gulf of Mexico. How will do help us relay less, because a country isn't going to ship oil half way around the world when there is a country right next door to take it.
Cash strapped? Our taxes haven't been this low in decades! The middle class are "cash strapped." The top 1% and the big corporations (who are people, right?) have never had it so good! Haven't you been following the statistics on earnings or income growth for the top 1%?
This is one of the cleanest of not the cleanest country on the planet. But it's never enough for the tree-huggers.
IF this is only about permitting, it should be given conditionally (i.e. costs associated with leaks are absorbed by the companies involved in building the pipeline). IF this also involves USA taxpayer money to fund partial or full construction, I actually would agree with Obama.

Why not demand that Boeing stop building airplanes since some of them wind up on the international market just like oil? There was a time when Americans were proud to produce products that the world needed. But not when it comes to our regressive American libs. Well considering the fact that clean/green energy when you include health adn environmental effects costs 2 times less then oil/coal any intellgent person (IE not you) would cocnlude that we should build more solar panels and wind turbines rather then building a pipeline that will leak oil into our drinking wanter
That's a claim that libs make but cannot prove. It's just speculation. But for most lefties trying to strange the petroleum industry really is about saving the polar bear. When people are struggling to put gas in their car because it costs so much libs don't like to admit that they love ducks and bears more than people. The idea of linking jobs to this pipeline is simply dumbness. Where were these people so concerned of jobs when the anti outsourcing bill got killed by the senate in 2010?
