Margot we Muslims know more about Christianity than vice versa.
Our history knows all about the crusaders and the multiple churches and the different popes.
Our Quran speaks of Eissa PBUH.

    Who is this Jesus anyway?

The Holy Land had a prophet Eissa. Eissa was his name. There is no Jesus in the bible. The Christians worship Eissa and the Virgin Mary.

Are you quibbling over language now, Abu? We call the Messiah Jesus, you all consider him a prophet and call him Isa.

Excellent point. They are worthless. Slay them wherever you find them. Rape their mothers and sisters. Displace their families.

How do you know he is being surreal. He could be deadly serious. Although hard to tell without emoticons but by his usual posts, he seems to mean it.

Exactly. We are all speaking of the same being, one who if he were here today would condemn Islam's violent ways.

True, but by the time Jesus was born Greek and Aramaic were the commonly used languages.

Well, most of Jesus ministry seems to have been around Galillee of the Gentiles.. (It was probably safer) so I would guess that he was fluent in Greek or Aramaic.
