I wonder if conspiracy nuts were responsible. Do you think the stones themselves were part of a conspiracy? Will the perpetrators be caught:

    And people should care why?

Did these stones even really have any real cultural value?

As far as I'm concerned, hearing this story perturbs me no more than if I had heard a story about someone who took a sledgehammer to a cement wall surrounding some abandoned factory.

Probably kooky conspiracy theorist types. Or maybe (these days you never know) some Muslim was offended and decided to try to take the stones out, acting on a rumor that they were Satanic.

I have no wish for the perpetrators to get caught.
But if they were caught, and I was the judge, I would give them no more than a month in jail. This should not even be a felony crime, but I'm sure they would treat it like one.

These stones were nothing like the Buddha that the Taliban in Afghanistan destroyed.

Put up in 1980 so - not really. Doesn't even have much in the way of artistic value.

Maybe someone can replace it with a giant Lego puzzle.

?????????? I wonder if you two would say the same thing if it was something you valued.

Perfect example of what is wrong with today's society.

oh it is a monument to trolling which some people would consider rather funny. But trolling a troll kind of seems like they would appreciate the sort of thing
Like I said it's a monument to trolling and someone blowing it up it seems to be trolling so it should be looked at upon as a good thing.

I think a better patrol would have been spray painting Bible verses on it or Quran versus that would have been funnier.

But someone destroyed a monument to trolling who cares.

I want to have cultural significance. You don't have a symbol or an artifact of nothing are you making the claim that whatever the hell this thing is there to do is some sort of valuable component of our culture it looked like trolling to me.

The fact that it was built is a joke and the fact that it was blown up although less funny I think spray painting Bible verses on it would have been funnier, is it celebrating what it's a monument to.

To shatter Stone I don't think it has to be that violent you can do that with a hammer.

Well as I said earlier it's a monument to trolling. Nobody valued it they might take a picture of it and laugh about it and say we show those Christians but the second you leave and forget about it you don't give it a second thought except for some bizarre little quirky trivial knowledge you may have about something weird to see in Georgia.

It's like Cadillac ranch it's just some junk someone put in a field in a quirky way and a bunch of people vandalize that spray painted it and so forth.

The real crime in my opinion was burying those beautiful cars the vandalism that happened after that was just icing on the cake

Exactly, on private property as well. Dangerous person. No opinion on the stone or their significance. How they chose to destroy it is pretty illegal.

Who is that idiot that called blocks of stone “satanic”? Of all the things you could label this, that’s the single dumbest anyone could arrange. Are these stones setting communion on fire? Worse, who wants to destroy something like this in the first place?

“The structure, which is a historical monument, displays a 10-part message espousing the conservation of mankind and future generations in eight modern languages — English, Spanish, Swahili, Hindi, Hebrew, Arabic, Chinese and Russian — and four ancient languages — Babylonian, Classical Greek, Sanskrit and Ancient Egyptian. The Guidestones also serve as an astronomical calendar.

The Guidestones, which also call for keeping world population at 500 million or below, have been heavily scrutinized by conspiracy theorists.”

how is any of that satanic??

Yeah another far right political candidate expressed their conspiracy on it, and then it was destroyed violently.

It looks like the “party of law and order” not only don’t care but are openly excusing it, some are going as far as to praise it. Seems to be a trend for them and criminal action.

How do you reduce the world's population, as they call for, without mass murder? Of course, it was just some crazy kook with too much disposable income who produced them, so who cares that they were destroyed! They outstayed their welcome anyway. None of that is ever happening. It was just an expired-past-their-due-date's hippy pipe dream.

In the meantime Three Churches today were marred with graffiti over Roe v Wade.
    I bet they cheer that.

The whole point was for what to do after nuclear war in order to survive. Kooky as hell, but it never had anything to do with encouraging mass murder.
