You can’t twist an absolute. Freshair made an absolutist statement about no women should be forced to carry a pregnancy to term. If anyone should have parsed their words it’s him, and you defending it is you defending that absolutist position.

And they had their chance to abort in the months prior but chose to carry it. So too late. Unborn babies at some point deserve to be protected. Too bad you don’t give a flying F about unborn babies though.

That's never been legal, even in the case of rape. I hate absolutes, so I won't say it's never happened, but it would certainly be rare because a woman that's been rapped would make the decision as quickly as possible.

This seems to be a comment more applicable to the poster who wants unrestricted abortion on demand. You should tell him. He will be quite upset if women can’t kill their unborn babies whenever they feel like it

I'm sickened by the Pro-Hamas folks who pretend that these Jewish women and girls were not systematically and violently raped by the Hamas invaders.

Blinken Says Hamas Sexual Violence Unlike Anything He Had Ever Seen

'Secretary of State Antony Blinken said over the weekend that the evidence he has seen of the sexual violence inflicted against Israelis on October 7 is unlike anything he has ever witnessed.'

None of us alive have witnessed this level of depravity by subhumans on humans.

'Blinken made the remarks during a Sunday interview on CNN’s “State of the Union” with Jake Tapper when asked why the United Nations and the international community has been so slow to condemn Hamas’ sexual atrocities.'

Tapper suggested anti-Semitism as a possible answer for why folks were still trying to deny the mass of violent pelvis shattering rapes of young Jewish girls, simply for being Jewish, in Israel.

“The atrocities that we saw on October 7 are almost beyond human description or beyond our capacity to digest,” he said. “And we have talked about them before. But the sexual violence that we saw on October 7 is beyond anything that I have seen either.”

He did not know the answer and suggested the folks should ask that question of themselves.

OK, but I still dont understand what 'sex exceptionalism' means. Is this meant to define some sort of 'might makes right' cultures that rape deserve to reproduce kinda thing?

OK, I see, so the theory is that sexual assault isn't worse than regular assault.

    I disagree.

...though, I have to admit, I havn't thought about it enough to figure out WHY I disagree.

But I definitely do. Rape is worse.

It would be so much easier to condemn Hamas for such brutality if the message wasn't coming from a regime occupying most of their country killing 10s of thousands to do so and with no end in sight let alone even a goal cited.
For each Hamas killed two new ones step up.

Withdraw from Palestine, set fixed borders and make Jerusalem an independent city state.

Seems like theres more to it than that. Perhaps the notion of a crime that is perpetrated purely for the gain of cruely violating someone, rather than any material reward. Not sure.

Woke Mob Goes After Jerry Seinfeld. “The protestors, who gathered outside the Landmark Theatre in downtown Syracuse, chanted that Seinfeld is “complicit in genocide” against the Palestinians and demanded an immediate ceasefire between Israel and Hamas as well as an end to all U.S. aid to Israel. Police officers were deployed to ensure that ticket-holders could safely enter the theater. Seinfeld, who is Jewish, posted an image that read ‘I Stand With Israel’ on Instagram after Hamas terrorists murdered and kidnapped hundreds of Israeli civilians in a surprise invasion on Oct. 7.”

'If that makes Seinfeld “complicit in genocide,” then doesn’t that make all of these pro-Hamas groupies complicit in terrorism? Complicit in the massacres and rapes that Hamas committed on 10/7? Apparently, morons with signs can’t think past their next dumb move.'

“And [Israel]’s doing so out in the open — with U.S. funding and weapons. The United States is directly responsible for every martyr’s death,” the socialist organization added, while noting that there will be “no holiday entertainment as usual until Palestine is free.”

So every rapist and murderer killed is a 'martyr'? To what? The cause of murdering and raping innocent Jews?

'Mock them mercilessly. Hamas is a bunch of nasty terrorist losers, and is losing, which is why its lame supporters are begging comedians for a ceasefire.'

Banned on the Run: Hamas Leaders Flee Qatar? Loooserrrs.

    What's Mossad?

'the leaders of Hamas have suddenly fled their cushy haven in Qatar for parts unknown. First, Makan reported from its sources in Doha that “a number” of Hamas officials and their staffers had left the country, which had offered them security for nearly a decade. Separately, KAN (Makan’s parent) reported that another “senior member of Hamas” had bailed out of Beirut.'

Saddam Hussein ended up hiding in a hole in the ground.

They might be on their way to Iran, or Algeria, or Lebanon.

'The decision to flee Qatar seems curious, although not inexplicable. Israel has pledged to hunt every member of Hamas down to the last man, including those living high off the haram in Doha — Ismail Haniyeh and Khaled Mashaal in particular. The Israelis even formed a special unit in the Mossad to execute this plan (in every sense of that verb), reminiscent of their Operation Wrath of God after the 1972 Munich Olympics massacre.'

Sen. Fetterman: 'I’m Not a Progressive'

Fetterman is fast becoming my favorite Democrat after RFK. The way that Illiberal have taken over the label 'Liberal' to try to impose authoritarianism through spying, election fixing and speech suppression is the biggest stolen base in American politics.

RFK never fell for their crap, not for a minute, but I did not expect Fetterman take up the cause of Liberalism against anti-Semitic American hating "progressivism" even though he did state this in the 2020 campaign, that he wasn't a progressive, he was just a Democrat. I figured he was lying to get elected and that he was as much of a lying authoritarian as the rest. But it turns out he might be an actual, real, Liberal Democrat and we could use a lot more of them.

In a new interview with NBC News he had them tearing their hair out over 'his support for Israel, says Sen. Menendez should be out of the Senate and repeats that something needs to be done to control the southern border.'

    HEAR! HEAR!

Wonders why the Left can't engage in a simple fact based discussion:

'Fetterman insisted he can be pro-immigration while also favoring policies to restrict the flow of migration to manageable levels, disagreeing with progressives who oppose new limits on asylum and bash some of the ideas in the negotiations as cruel.'

That's the same thing many Conservatives on this board have pointed out.

“It’s a reasonable conversation — until somebody can say there’s an explanation on what we can do when 270,000 people are being encountered on the border, not including the ones, of course, that we don’t know about,” he said. “To put that in reference, that is essentially the size of Pittsburgh, the second-largest city in Pennsylvania.”

' Sen. Kyrsten Sinema who started out as an anti-war leftist but who has since bucked her party on a number of issues and is now considered a border hawk. Some Democrats really do seem to drift right in office. Fetterman seems to be one of those, at least for now.'

You won't catch either of them downplaying Hamas' mass rapes no matter what kind of 'reasoning' progressives try to attach to the position.

I always hoped we would see reason breaking out all over, when we least expected it, and we might be seeing the dam starting to crack on some of this insane 'reasoning' that is reflected in the title and OP, here.

If you listen to the official explanations of the Israeli government from rape to the bombings to whatever that appears negative in the press, their official line is "We talk about this later, not now." That has been said over and over and over and over again when talking about rape allegations, sectarian violence, the accidental deaths of hostages by Israeli forces, the information that the Israeli government knew about the attack beforehand, took a hell of a long time to respond, etc. The Likud party, which is primarily in control of the Israeli government, and their party platform, does not want a two-state solution. We do know that there is sectarian violence in the West Bank by extremist Israelis. But the Israeli government is also not putting a stop to it, being mum to the whole affair, and so forth.

We all know that Hamas is a terrorist organization, but it took the Israeli government more than 12 hours to respond on October 7th. It took us less than five minutes to respond when 9/11 happened. The Israeli government also knew, or appeared to know, what Hamas was doing. Even Netanyahu agreed and approved Qatar sending payments to Hamas, with some arguing that he encouraged it even though everyone knew Hamas was a terrorist organization. This muddies the water tremendously. It does not excuse what Hamas did on October 7th, not in a million years, but there are no innocents in this whole bloody affair.

I am focusing on a legal perspective here. But it would be "fair" if done under Israeli jurisprudence and rules of evidence. Their legal system is more aligned to that of Germany or the UK than anything else. But it would be a solution to the rape allegations being made.

WTH? You do know that Netanyahu, and he is not the left BTW, has not said one thing officially. It has been "we will talk about this later."

So talk to Netanyahu Bill. I am quite sure he will listen to you lol.

Allegations are allegations. To prove them factual or not needs a court of law. Any woman can accuse you of rape Wild Bill. You can deny it of course, but in the end, the court of law will determine whether that is true or not. That is not denying anything, that is the judicial system we need to use with Israel.

I know there are allegations and probably some physical evidence, but again, I would rather have a court of law to answer that question. What you are not understanding is that any rape allegation is a legal question. If you were raped here in the US, the first thing would be a rape kit to get that evidence. The second thing would be a very uncomfortable interview in which hard questions would have to be asked. The third would be to identify the suspect involved based on your testimony. Fourth would be an investigation by law enforcement to ascertain the facts, including interviewing the person of interest/suspect. If enough PC can be obtained by all evidence, then an arrest is made, and a trial will ensue or a plea deal will ensue. I would apply this to any rape allegations no matter the circumstances, places of origin, or people involved. This is a legal question, not a policy question suc has making Hamas a terrorist organization. I am not saying Hamas is innocent nor am I saying Hamas is guilty, but there is that incontrovertible fact that Israelis have revenge on their minds since October 7th and to eliminate all doubt, then a trial would need to ensue, whether by the ICC or Israel. That is my point. This would eliminate any emotionalism argument and make sure the facts are ascertained in a manner best suited for the situation at hand whether we have ISIS, Sunni Rebels, Iraqi Government officials or others in Iraq who have raped Yazidi women in the past 75 years or so. Or do you think it was only ISIS here?

What we need to guard against is our emotions. We are at our best when we move together and we are at our worst when we move together. We had revenge after 9/11 and look where that has taken us. History is repeating itself here, and most people just don't know it, unfortunately. May not change the outcome, but we need to be sure about the rape allegations and not get caught in a trap by Israeli propaganda where they would eventually accuse all Palestinian males of rape or something similar. That is not too far-fetched for Netanyahu to make the claim similar to how Trump makes inflammatory remarks such as Mexicans are rapists type of thing.

Does all the legal process you described include publicizing videos of the rapes, or making all evidence available to everyone worldwide?
